(its somewhat farway but..) who's not going to prom?

I'm not. Well, as of now I'm not planning on going. I feel that prom night is just so overrated. There's really nothing THAT special about it, aside from girls getting dressed up and dragging their dates to take hockey pictures, then basically shaking their butts in their big pouffy dresses to rap music. It's ridiculous. Not to mention people sneak alcoh ol and drugs into the dances and that just makes things worse.

As I already stated. I'm not going to prom. Some may think I'm making a bad choice (and who knows, I might change my mind in the coming months), but as of now, I think its a good decision.

Who else feels this way? or are u not going because its too much money? That's also a big reason of why I don't want to go, just too expensive.

I'm not going. It's expensive and it would be awkward for me since I don't know my peers. It would be alienating.

It's kinda funny how my mother is more excited about prom than I am. Last year, she freaked out in June that prom had passed and that I hadn't gone. Oh well.

I'm totally going. Well Junior Prom is this year. It's actually the Friday before AP's, so if my parents don't let me go I'll just get some senior to take me to their Prom. =D

It's madddddddddddddd fun from what I've heard.

Hehe I get to wear a tuxedo. And my new Armani cologne. And my silver watch. I'm SOUPED.

I'm going, but I agree that it is expensive and overrated. It is ridiculous how excited some people get about it...they claim: "it is the night of your life". Sure, it will be fun, but not life-changing.

My parents said that if I don't go to prom I can go to England to visit a childhood friend that moved there about five years ago (we've kept in touch and she came here two yrs ago)

Uh, what do you think I'm going to pick?

If I find someone to ask I'll go.

armani cologne? aquagio? (the one i have)
im definitely going to senior prom this year, its the perfect way to cap my hs experience (i think)

It IS the night of your life!
prom night and wedding night =D

lol

Hehe yeah, Aqua de Gio I believe. My friend got it for me for my birthday. Hot stuff.

I'm not expecting prom to be the night of my life, but I am excited to go. I'm not normally that girly, but the idea of having one night where I can get my nails/hair/makeup done and dress up really fancy sounds like a lot of fun to me. I can almost guarantee that I won't have a date, but what are you going to do? I think it'll be a cool send-off to my senior friends also.

haha, Crayon. My mom is super excited about prom this year. She's a hair dresser so she does hair for all the girls from other schools around prom time and always pesters me about why i didn't go this year and why i'm not going next year.

We call prom - the ball. I went this year (may) and it was so much fun! Well.. the after party was waaaaayyyy better (it was hosted by the school prefects). I don't think many people wear poofy dresses anymore.. I wore a pretty yellow dress (kinda like a cocktail dress) and got my makeup and hair done and it was so fun! Next year, me and my friends decided to get together and makeup/hair together instead of getting it done proffessionally because I reckon it's more fun with just the girls.
And I wore these killer silver highheels and they were killing my feet! I was dancing so much and my feet made it less fun.

I don't think it's THAT ridiculous.. I ordered heaps of photos and they all came out great - they all made me look tanned lol. And the photos I took werent that great but they captured the moment i guess. And my date (guy) was the one dragging me to the photo place lol

The whole thing was pretty expensive (my dress alone was friggin $400) and I'm pretty sure it wasn't worth it - like i could have a better time with the money I spent on the ball.. But it was nice to get dressed up and have fun (but definetly not worth the money).

I am definetly going to my senior one.. it's like a traditional highschool thing to do...
And all these girls who didnt go this year (because they thought it was gonna be silly) were cooing over my photos and they were sooo jealous. They are definetly going this year lol.

Aqua de Gio is good stuff. Cool water is also great.

I'm not going because I hate too many people at my school. lol. Plus there's no point to it, much like the rest of high school.

Well I'm homeschooled, so, yeah...I mean no...

I don't think I will... even though a couple of my friends want me to. I don't know, I'll see. It's probably not worth the money.

Not to burst everyone's moody and pesimistic bubble, but why decide so early that you're not going to prom? Yes, it is expensive, and a bit overrated, but that doesn't make it any less enjoyable or memorable. If you have a nice group of friends, you can really have a great time. You don't have to be the kid who's humping the floor or doing drugs under the table.

All I'm saying is, it's just a nice night to spend with your friends having fun.

unless you dont have any friends... DUN DUN DUN

aquagio smells awesome, in my opinion.

Im probably going but only if all my friends are too - if even some of them aren't going, im definitely not. Its only going to be fun if I have some good friends to hang out with! And plus I havent gone to many school dances over the years so i kind of want to have this experience to remember and treasure for a long time.
