<p>I cant get into my D email either. However, I can access her Oscar account. If you can access your D Oscar account you will be able to view her application status. I am going to check Oscar throughout the day to see if her application status change. If it does, I will post an update. I want to surprise my D too. I only want to surprise her with good news though:)</p>

<p>Thanks shivamparikh, we would be interested to know when you get an email to check. Most of us have been periodically checking, but it would be good to know when they send out an email notice.</p>

<p>I think I can speak for everyone when I say we wouldn’t have access to their accounts our D’s or S’s didn’t give us access. Why is that your concern? Why are you on these college threads anyway? Most of you responses are negative and it doesn’t appear you are a high school student or a parent of a student that will be attending one of these schools. As I was reading your posts about Tech it appears you have a vengeance against the university with your negative attitude. What happened? Did you attend and couldn’t survive the rigorous academic environment of Tech so now you are upset and want to “rain on everyone else parade”! Feel free to respond to my post but I will not give you the satisfaction of responding to none of your other posts. Have a good day</p>

<p>Yes it is Falconmom, and the mailman just came, and lots of stuff from other schools, but nothing from Ga Tech yet, so hopefully the online system will be updated in a positive way soon for all of us :-)</p>

<p>Wow. No, I am very positive about the Institute. You must be referring to my dislike of Buzzport, which is far from encompassing. Apparently, I must have hit a nerve with you. </p>

<p>As for why I am on here, I have been very helpful to several individuals, and as a two time graduate (both undergraduate and graduate), I can answer questions many questions that others cannot (not to mention that I’m a faculty member at a Top 10 nationally ranked university). </p>

<p>Literally, it is a violation of federal law for you to access a student’s account without the student’s consent. Since several of you talk about “surprises”, I was making sure you were aware of that fact. Tech has taken a strong stance (turning over names for prosecution) in the past for these sorts of activities, as Tech has a huge liability if they do not.</p>

<p>It was really just for your benefit. The most often cited excuse for FERPA violations is “I didn’t know”, which is, of course, not acceptable.</p>
