With 15 days left for ED II I figured it was about time to get this thread started. So who is waiting and what are you expecting? Why do you like Emory? Good luck!

haha! i already got a countdown clock started! Im so worried about my chances but hopefully things will work out. I think there’s many attractable aspects at Emory like its location, beautiful facilities, and academic offerings. Good luck to everyone as well!

Welcome to the wait yuxanchen, Do we want to make this a stats thread also?

Haha I was hoping someone would start a thread! I was afraid to start one and it be too early. Anyways, I loveeeed Emory when I visited/ it offers everything I want, so I’m pretty hopeful. 32 ACT, 4.26 GPA, 7 APs, visited, email often. I’m just hoping I’ll get a good fin aid package, that’s my deal breaker.

sure! 2100 SAT, 3.8 GPA, top 3% in school, 11 AP’s, nice essays, and an interview. Didn’t get a chance to visit the campus though…:(

I have a 2080 SAT, 3.74 gpa, top 8% of class, shown a TON of interest and great extra curriculars. Really hoping I get it. Has been my number one choice for a while. Just was not able to meet ED I deadline b/c/ of late scholars nomination.

I applied via Questbridge, but wasn’t matched. that’s the only reason I applied EDII. Two more weeks! It went so quickly until the turn of the year. I feel like it’s dragging now that I’m watching the calendar.

oh, and I’m top 3%. forgot to add that part. Though, I think my school just does deciles, officially.

How much interest have u guys shown?

sadly… not much, i asked for their brochures, got a good interview, and called them a lot…but that’s it. I guess applying early decision shows a lot of interest.

Anyone know how many people were accepted Ed 1? And the acceptance rate?

hi everyone i applied EDII to emory too :)

I applied ED II too.

Does Emory reject more or wait list more for ED IIstudents? Anyone know?

According to [Early Line on Early Admissions - NYTimes.com](Early Line on Early Admissions - The New York Times), Emory accepted 49% of the EDI applicants (431), and 32% of the class has been filled so far.

And last year, the Emory counselors said there’s usually about 800 people on the wait list. Dunno about acceptance rates for EDII, though.

Ugghh I can’t wait any longer! I’m not trying to be a pessimist, but I’m almost certain I won’t get in and if I keep convincing myself, maybe I won’t be as disappointed :b
SAT 2040
OOS
5 AP’s by the end of senior year
4.3 W gpa, 3.7 UW gpa
Indian classical dance for 12 years
500ish volunteer hours
Founded a program to get kids summer camp scholarships
Rank (THIS is what’s going to kill me…): 81/323. My school is super competitive :(

Of course, even if I do get in, the money will be an issue. Anyone know whether we get our finanial aid package at the same time (Feb. 15th) as well?
Good luck everyone! :)

yea, fin aid comes with your admission decision if accepted.

I wonder how many were taken from that 800.

how much do you think demonstrated interest matters when you apply ED?

“DI” matters at almost all private schools. Put yourself on the other side: if you are choosing among several equally qualified applicants, would you choose the one that shows the most or the least interest in actually attending?

The only exception that comes to mind is Boston College, although there are likely to be others.
