It's time for Vietnamese thread !!!

ronty007: there have been 4 Vietnamese students at Harvard college so far ;) , but only 1 at MIT (correct me if I am wrong).

oh..thats great...Harvard is the No.1 University after all :)

So do I think. :)

ur Intended Major? Mine is Comp Sci

Mine is engineering or Physics. :)

How long have you been studying English,ronty007?

Have u applied to Swat...it is a LAC which is good in Engg

I have done my complete schooling in English...Why? Is it very poor? :p

hlvlong, I'm not mocking any one, so please do not say that I show no respect to ppl here. I'm not "shouting" either. I was just joking about the grammar mistake, don't take it so seriously because I am no good at grammar.
Peace :)

Hi ronty, any acceptances yet? :)
HiLine: there're actually more than 2 Vietnameses currently at MIT. Both are from High school for the gifted. I know this guy named Huy who transfered (incredible huh?) from Hanoi University of Sciences to MIT. Of course he used to win 2 gold medals in the Olympiads. Great =)

Nope Jaah, no acceptance till now, becuz I have applied for the RD round only
Hoping to get in somewhere...though I dont have any safety schools in US.
My safety schools r the Medical Colleges of India, which are VERY tough to get in :)
What about you?

ronty007,I know you Indian guys are excellent at English.I am just curious as to when you started learning English.
hlvietlong ,say whatever you think but please do not offend anyone.

@HiLine: Hey I'm not offending anyone ! It is you who started asking when did ronty learn E that seemed to be offensive
@jaah: Only a few Vnmese students tend to major in IT and Computer Science, so MIT is kinda unpopular. :D
Besides, Harvard is only famous for its Econ, Law and grad. And many people said Harvard is not a good place for undergrad among the Ivies.

@ronty: How come did you intend to visit our place :D ? Are you male or female ? :D
I did not apply to any National University as I prefer a small community that LAC offers :D I like the Liberal Arts Education as well :D Besides, I do not have an intended major yet, so getting into a LAC and then... whatever. LACs don't care so much about majors

@HiLine: You plan on taking Engineering or Physics, right ? Did you apply to WPI or Lafayette ?

Well,I didn't mean to offend. I just wanted to know when Indian kids start learning English. You probably have known they are some of the best English speakers all over the world.
Harvard is famous not only for its specific departments but also for the admission criteria and the LAC-similar environment.
I prefer big universities but my SAT scores have prevented me from applying to the Ivies.
ronty007 has come to our thread, that means our thread is thriving.:D
And yes,I did apply to Lafayette. What is WPI?

Worcester Polytechnic Institute, a famouse engineering-focused college :D
I don't think Harvard's environment is similar to LAC's. A National Univ is a Univ anyway. They focus on specific departments as you said :)
The goals of LAC and Univ are somehow different, too :)

I came to this thread to make some Vietnamese friends :D
No, I m not offended by anyone on this thread... :)
Its nice to have friends from different countries and cultures

oh yes, I am a Male :)

ronty is an Indian, right ? Do you know anything about the United World College in Mahindra ?:D One of my friend is enrolling in that school :D

Yes...Its in Pune... Mahindra's United World College

So how many US colleges did you apply in total :D ?

14
All Ivies+MIT+Duke+Swarthmore+Vanderbilt+JHU+WUSTL
No safety school. :) What about you?
