hm, you'll catch up with me soon. I don't post here often now.
p.s: ignore my question? :(

hey hey...don't be upset.

I am...

I am...

I am...

I am...

I am...

...The Incredibles :p

bad, bad, bad, bad boy

hey Ly...what are you doing this afternoon? any thing exciting? just out of curiosity

hic...did u already leave me alone in the middle of loneliness?

yep, i'm doing sth this afternoon :P out now, going to extra class :D see ya later

hey hey...are you really leaving?? or you are just kidding?

such a hardworking, dedicated and determined girl :)

:D That I could not survive the incredibility of the chat is of course true, The IncrediBoy :D I haven't evolve into Ubermensch yet :P

You've unintentionally disclosed your identity, by your word using style and some mysterious connections to the Vietnamese applicants this year ;)

haha, I know who you are, you who love the Incredibles. I should have figured out earlier.

bingo...Go Vietnamese!!!!:D

"you who love the Incredibles"? Now why does that sound familiar?
Lol, though i guess CTC and US are enough clues 4 me to work out the answer.

@the incredibles: thanks 4 ur advice and sorry i couldn't replied sooner. So u're saying life at Smith is wayyyy wilder than at other girl colleges?
Hmmmm, how come my friend DH over there failed to mention this?
Guess she's probably trying to drag me to Smith with her :p
Can u elaborate a bit on this "social life and academic environment" topic?
Cheers

Btw, if ur still interested, CTC got 5 new girls this Jan. Actually there were 6 but one thought the tutors not good enough so she disappeared.
Dunno if u want a girl's opinion on girls :p One of them (from Ams) is definitely pretty, though some would hesitate to call her cute. Another is EXTREMELY cute/sweet and i would surely fall 4 her if only.....^^

hey pooka, thanks for your great info abt CTC girlz ^_^ ...it sounds pretty interesting :D

ok, let's get real now...I am sure that your friend dieuhau has been bombarding you a lot of Smith stuff and you might have made up your mind by now. I am trying not to be biased here.

One of my cap2 friend (that's right...we've been friends for more than 7 years!) went to Smith, and I was just amazed by the wilderness/craziness of Smith. When I say 'amazed', I mean Smith's social life is absolutely beyond my imagination. HOWEVER, this is NOT necessarily a negative aspect of the school...some like it (like your good friend DH and probably the pooka i'm talking to right now), some don't. The reason why I wanna emphasize is because I feel this is probably the single biggest factor affecting girls from Asia. I think Smith is the best fit for those who are really open-minded and tolerant.

Too much texts here...let's do something a bit more visual, and, hopefully, exciting:
http://smith.dailyjolt.com/pictures/album.html?album_id=696
This is what happened during Smith's Convocation 2004 - that is to say, professors and parents are the primary audience. What do you think?

Also, another way to take a peek into Smith is to visit: http://smith.dailyjolt.com/

As with the academic aspect, never mind my comment - I got confused when I was typing the initial message. Besides Wellesley, which enjoys unsurpassable academic standards and a very distinguished alumni network, I think there is no substantial difference between Smith, MHC and BM.

Again, I have to say that I am NOT by any means discouraging you from Smith. Rather, I just attempted to give you a sense of how life at Smith looks like and whether you can fit in. I know I've been mumbling the words "fit" and "match" over hundred times today, but it is much more important than we often expect. I think your friend TH can well testify this.

Ok, if you have any questions, bust them out, and I'll try my best to help.

Anything good from LSE?

~~~swamped by finals~~~
Thank u sooo much for the detailed answer ^^ Esp since u're up to ur ear with finals.
Well, i must say ur graphic presentation is very impressive. Not to mention the part about parents and professors.
If being open-minded and tolerant is the key then i think i can go to Smith. I mean as long as one doesn't have to actually join those exciting activities to be able to fit in, i'm OK with it.
I'll look closely at that website and talk to DH ^^
LSE? Well, they haven't even sent me the letter. I only knew through UCAS online tracking service. Did u apply there once upon a time?
If so, I guess you should have no problem with Smith...Northampton is a great college town with bars, coffeeshops, restaurants, etc. Glad that you've finally made up your mind :)
And yeah, I did apply to LSE, like 3 years ago. Actually I was the first Vnese who received LSE offer - it was like January or something. But their award letter took like forever.
Is Smith the only school in the US to which you applied this year? DH must be a big aspiration for you huh? ^_^
Smith is the only college i got in, the rest either waitlisted or rejected me....how embarrassing..... blushes furiously
Still, it's true that i wanna be with one of my classmates. So Smith seems fine.
Btw, why did u decide to go over there instead of staying in the UK?
i'm back ............
:D i have disappeared for a long time, though I still follow the Vietnamese post and am glad to see it's getting stronger.
theincredibles: thanks for your advice about LSE. I'm still waiting for the letter from LSE and getting nervous now. I am coming back to Saigon this summer in July... hope to meet you there. I heard you're preparing a Vietnamese students gathering in VA forum.. good luck to you, and I would be more than ready to offer any help :D
i hope to see The Incredibles soon, haven't had a chance.. heard very good reviews about it .
pooka: are you 100% sure you're going to Smith ? i'm sure you'll make the right decision ... England vs. America
@ anhanh: Oh no, not 100%. I'm still waiting for LSE like every1 else.
After all it scores better than Smith in terms of int'l reputation and the course is shorter as well.
@anhanh: unfortunately, theincredibles will not return to SG so you can't meet him.
but you should definitely see the movie. I love that too
ngohuongly88: hic why theincredibles won't return to Saigon this summer, HL?
Ah have you sent in your deposit to Wesleyan yet ? I used to be a Freeman finalist and did go to Hanoi for the interview and reception... an unforgettable exeperience .. did give many thoughts about what kind of students they want... only after knowing the result though ...
My classmate, also close friend, is in her 2nd year there. as there are many international students in Wesleyan, esp. Asian students, you won't really have time to feel homesick or lonely... my friend even came back to CT early last summer ( in July) to work in an office.. to earn some money to travel :D and spend the summer in Wesleyan...
