anhanh: he told me so. the reason? I don't know
about wes, my friend just faxed the response form for me, i'm waiting for the package now.

u were a finalist? Can u tell me about the reception? I loved the one I had. It was a lot of fun really. u don't know how surprised I was when I knew I was chosen. well, all of the others were just awesome. I guess it is just my luck to have impressed them in some way that they like. what the kind of students do you think they want?

is your friend Lena? I have heard something about her from my friends at LHP and I also talked for a while with her father at the reception. I think I will also work at Wes to save money for summer travel. I want to go to Europe :D. I know it'll cost some money, and in case I can't save enough, maybe a trip around the US or to Canada is enough.

hey VA: Yeah...I plan to stay and work here plan in summer and probably go back for Xmas, so it is not too bad.
hey Ly: did Tu talk2u about our Europe trip? She was telling that you guys wanted to travel to Europe in summer 2006. And I was like 'wow' - because I also wanted to go to Germany to see World Cup. $$$ comes back again, but I gonna work hard to do that for two reasons: (1) I am a crazy fan of soccer and (2) I mean come on, this is WORLD CUP. Hmm...I think I am too much into the future :D but let me know what you think.

@theincredibles: yep, it's our plan. Tu wanted to visit France (at least) and I wanted to travel around. But u just reminded me about the WC. I'm a big fan too :P I don't think I will be lucky enough to get a ticket, but drowning myself in the street full of flags and fans, it's just... "wow" :D What's more, I really want to go with a guy. I DO hope that it'll be SAFER :D
ipsen? I guess he just doesn't feel it's the right moment to jump in right now :P chatting with him by the way.

theincredibles: are you going to China for Olympic 2008 in Beijing? Having followed stories about your China trip in Vietabroader, I found it really interesting and wished to be able to visit those places in the near future, well, when I have an acceptable command of Mandarin Chinese so that what my surroundings say aren't just noise... I'm thinking of learning some Chinese this summer, although Japanese is another option and I find it hard to make a decision. I want to understand what the Chinese songs that I listen to mean, what my friends are talking about... Well, but I also dream of reading manga and watching anime in Japanese :P ... When did you start to learn Chinese? How do you feel aout it?

huongly: yeah Lena is the girl I told you about. She showed me a picture of a birthday+Valentine's Day cake that her roomate made for her and another friend, both of who were born on 14-2. The cake was filled with chocolate and looked really cute and delicious :P, which showed that international friends there are very caring and helpful :).

I still remember my Freeman interview and reception. The interview was not very long, and the questions were about information in my application and essays, activities, personalities, hobbies, future plan... the last question was ' Do you have any question about Wesleyan?' I do have loads of personal opinions about this whole process after talking to my teachers and friends; the opinions may be biased, but most of them are true ... so if you're really interested, just PM or YM me... :D

ipsen: why do you stop posting? Have you found the part-time job you want?

pooka: hic Easter holiday is going to end .. and i haven't revised anything :(:( .. arghhhhhhhh

@anhanh: answering for Ipsen, he only handed in his CVs yesterday or st so prob hasn't got any replies yet.

I haven't done any revision either >_< Mrs Hayes will be very happy. She esp asked us to prepare for the EU presentation :(:(

Oh yes, i didn't know u could understand Chinese. So cool ^^
<sigh> i also need to choose between French and Japanese but can't make up my mind.</sigh>

My Chinese oral communications are quite okay, while writing is a real challenge for me :(. This is probably because I really like speaking Chinese...so funny that I talk so much in my Chinese class but then when the prof asks me to write...I am like...:D

World Cup 2006 in Germany, Olympic 2008 in Beijing...ah this is so awesome. I would love to go both and Im sure you do too...let's start planning soon :D...

Oh hey...can someone say Hi to Mrs Hayes for me please? Tell her that I just finished a 40-page Econometrics paper :D...I feel really great :D...No no, good God I haven't slept for the last 48 hours!!

Pardon my writing today...I don't know what I am typing right now...zzz now :P

Hey Anhanh, I intend to visit back my beloved England next year spring break :D :D, will you be there to help me out with those accommodation problems.
Er... Pooka, so you will be in MA... ha ha cool for you. I'm still waiting for the waitlist of finance. If I get in, it will be 45 mins to NYC for me only, what a good deal then.
Er, about world cup, thinking of going there too, but I have to think about finance first.

@anhanh: I though u said u have "an acceptable command of Mandarin Chinese so that what [ur] surroundings say aren't just noise", which means u CAN understand Chinese.

@_pooka: I'm also choosing between French and Japanese sigh I'm fascinated by Jap culture (including all the manga...) but if I can speak French, I can have all the Italian and Spanish :D I think I'm going to take Jap course at wesleyan, but I'll also try to push some French into my head over the summer :D

@anhanh: sure, I'm VERY interested :D just pm. hope to see ya :D

@theincredibles: it's a "wow". don't oversleep tonight (VN time) :D

duncan: are you coming here next year ^_^ welcome welcome, i'll try to help you out with some accommodation, but i'm not very sure :(. hihi maybe i'll ask some Vietnamese first year students here.. hic, as for me, i haven't known where i will be yet :( huhu :(

pooka: hihi i have shown you where you misunderstood me :D have you received the fin aid package from Smith ?

huongly: sorry for my late reply ... it's really interesting to chat with you...hope we can continue our talk later ...

@anhanh: i'm sorry, too I was too busy last time :( u know what? I suddenly recalled that you just gave me your opinions about wes application, not the scholars :P. pm you. is the guy vinhlth "sent" from you? :D

huongly: vinhlth is not ' sent ' from me. What made you think so? :)):)) actually he's my friend, also pooka's and ipsen's friend. He heard about your winning Freeman Scholar so contacted a friend of his in Chuyen Ngu to ask your email :D I just knew it today, asked him and got this information. Hope there's no misunderstanding.

I am very suprised to here from you guys. Yes, you guessed it, I am Vietnamese too. It may be late now but next year I will be studying Electronics at University of Edinburgh. I have no choice for it. I want Imperial but it is too expensive. By the way here, any of you will or are studying in Edinburgh? It is good to know some so that I can feel a bit confident about my decision.
All the best!!!

I got accepted to Edinburgh too, but I want to stay in England, so Edinburgh was out of the list :D Had I loved Ecosse more, you and I would have been in the same course next Oct, given your entry point is 2nd year :)

@all the Vietnamese folkie spammers: I still roam on this board, but much less frequently and sometimes feel quite empty to say anything :P US education has nothing to do with me now, so it is rather pointless to post some comments on what you've been discussing :D

Hopefully I could provide you with some accommodation if you want to visit Oxford next year :)

Well, the entry point of 2 is quite trivial, which one can quite easily guess out if one knows the 5-year MEng course-length regulation of U. of Edinburgh and also the policy allowing applicants to choose entry point of either 1 or 2 (such a benevolent one :D)and that you are currently a freshman :D
