Does IU offer engineering? I always assumed it did since it has 42,000 students. I am looking at the three majors of Business, Pre-med, and possibly Engineering. I never thought i'd have to look for a major at such a big school, but I did not find Engineering on a list one of the sites showed me.

No, IU does not have engineering programs - those are found at Purdue. Very unusual for a state flagship to not have engineering, but there’s some weird political history there.

I don’t know what you mean by “an alternative to engineering.” There are science programs such as geology, physics, etc.

IU has a very strong Chemistry department, has a good Computer Science department (part of the School of Informatics and Computing), and has an applied physics degree in the Physics department that is advertised as “an excellent precursor to graduate programs in engineering and other applications of physics.” IU also has a good math. department with a number of applied math. offerings. And, as mentioned in #3, IU also has the full complement of other science offerings (biology, geology, astronomy, …)
