<li><p>For Activities, under Position Held, if was just a member and helld no position should she put Other or leave it blank?</p></li>
<li><p>Someone mentioned an optional essay.. we didn't see it, what page was it on?</p></li>

<p>I cannot view an application because I don’t want to set up an account. If I recall correctly, it’s not mentioned on the application. </p>
<p>I just went through this question with a family member that applied to IU. There is not an optional essay prompt. The optional essay is a personal statement. Just as one can submit letters of recommendation, one can submit a personal statement. It’s open ended. </p>

<p>To answer your other question, just put “other” if she was a member or put “member.” I don’t recall what DS did.</p>
<p>Essay topic is anything. Not sure if it’s specifically stated. Send it to the admissions office though.</p>
