I applied to IU-Boomington in the middle of December. I had a 3.18 GPA at application, It'll likely be a 3.4 by the time I enroll. I'm interested in seeing what my chances are. So, here's my story.

I graduated high school in 2007 and enrolled at a community college after that. I had been in my high schools AWFUL special education program that left me with the education of a four year old. I often spent my class periods in a room with 3 other people coloring shapes and reading books with a recommended age group of 5-10. My high school graduation requirements we also altered for "children with my academic need" and I couldn't meet any college admission requirements. My ACT scores were awful because I wasn't ever taught the material on them and so on. Needless to say CC was my only option. My first semester I did terrible, partly because I was overwhelmed and partly because I had a hard time even understanding what was being taught. I decided to drop out and didn't take more classes until the fall of 2008. I then didn't attend should all of 2009 and then enrolled for 2010.

IU sent me an e-mail recently asking me to detail my activities while not enrolled in schools for dates I mentioned above. I responded saying I did an unpaid internship at a vet hospital in Michigan for 2008 and in 2009 I got certified to be a Vet Tech. Both of those things are true. So, given what I shared do I have a chance of being admitted? I applied to and got accepted to other schools, IU is just my first choice so I'll be alright either way.
