IU Computer Science Major? Help please!

I know that IU isn't exactly known to be a technology type college, but I was wondering if majoring in CS would still be worth it? Will it hinder how much money I would make as opposed to going to a different college? Will it be harder to get a job? I'm very interested in this major and feel this is what I want to do with my life any help at all would be very much appreciated.

I've also been accepted into Purdue, would that be all around the best choice? Or will it make no real big difference?

MY S11 had planned to study computer science at Purdue but was offered no merit there and full tuition at IU so he went to IU. He was direct admitted to the school of Informatics with an additional small scholarship, LOVED his honors intro comp sci course and the honors housing and is currently taking two higher level comp sci courses this semester. He is very happy at IU and I have heard no regrets. I recommend that you visit the honors comp sci course and talk to Nancy Lemons, admissions, School of Informatics before you make up your mind.
