Similar dates - Congrats Navmaster! The wait is frustrating. All the application material is worded as ‘Apply by 11/1 to receive full consideration.’ I’m now thinking we should have sent it in 10/1.
This is my first rodeo, so I started getting nervous from the delay, but I think apps are up and there is probably some admin functions operating remotely due to COVID, so I’m trying to be more patient. IU Kelley is D21’s 2nd choice currently, based on the schools we’ve visited. I loved the campus and Bloomington and it is drivable (FC isn’t even a direct flight - LOL).
Does anyone know how many students are direct admit to Arts & Sciences (Biology major)? Is that standard?
Yeah I’m still waiting for kelley. Applied Nov 1, Petitioned with a 1530 3.75 on 11/26. I got in on 12/15 and I have my IU admissions package but nothing from Kelley which is making me a little restless.
Congrats to your daughter. Where else is she applying?
I am wondering too. My S21 was direct admit to Arts & Sciences (Mathematics) last week. Still waiting on Hutton. Applied 11/1, accepted 12/8, red envelope provost and SSA invite 12/15. They must have a ton of people working on these in different capacities to be so spread out.
ETA: We did have the Hutton email. It was in a promo folder dated 12/13 so I need to check things better.
My daughter was accepted in December, then found out a few weeks later that she got a Dean’s scholarship for $8,000 a year. Then a week later she got an email to apply for SSA. Today she got an email that she is a direct admit for Hutton Honors and that she should receive an email about SSA. I am confused is Hutton SSA different? We keep finding out everything in little chunks so it is unclear.
In my son’s SSA email it says it would be reviewed by Hutton Honors College. But he has not heard from Hutton. So I think the SSA is always Hutton.
She applied to a number of Big 10 schools and also some privates in the midwest. Given the pandemic, she wanted to be positioned with options. Now she is narrowing down her choices.
My daughter was accepted 12/8. Received SSA email on 12/13. Received Hutton Honors direct admit today. Still waiting on direct admit to Media School.
Anyone who got into the honors program, could you list your stats please
My daughter had 3.8 UW and 4.575 W with no tests.
My daughter has a 3.8 UW/4.34 W and 1480 SAT.
My daughter had 3.9UW/4.1 W. Applied TO. Had amazing EC, leadership, great recommendations.
oh alright, I have the same SAT score and my score is in IB points, but yea a similar GPA if roughly converted, will be hopeful…
It took four weeks from acceptance to email re Hutton. But that time included the holidays. Hopefully, it will be quicker now.
My son’s application was completed on 10-28 and he was accepted on 11-19. Direct admit to the COAS and was offered the SSA scholarship opportunity. 4.0 UW, 4.23 W. He only scored 1290 on the SAT, that was taken the Saturday before schools shutdown in Indiana. He received the Provost Scholarship in the amount of 7,000 per year. He finally was able to take the ACT on December 12th and scored a 32. IU sent him an email to apply for the Cox Scholarship and we haven’t heard from Hutton yet. The 32 should qualify for the Honors program automatically, but I’m sure that IU is scrambling getting all of these updated scores by the January 15th deadline. We are hopeful that he picks up a little more money but IU has already been pretty generous so far. Good Luck to all that have gotten in and to all of those still hoping to get in.
3.6 UW 4.31 W with no tests
Real but old issue, major renovations were done and all dorm furniture was replaced in “older” dorms. Dehumidifiers were added, new hvac systems the works
Oh alright, I am waiting to hear about Kelley cause I haven’t gotten any email regarding that, even the IUsaidYES email only had a few details but nothing about which school I have been admitted to.
