Got admitted to both, wanna major in Finance or economics.
I planed to transfer to another school after a year in either school. I wanna know which one will be more helpful for transfering.
Kelley is a really good business school, yet its overall ranking is too low…
Wisconsin ranks higher but its finance or economics major is not that good.
Btw, my dream school is Wellesley…
Is either more affordable? Are you a direct admit at either Kelley or UW’s B school? By the way, UW’s Econ department is excellent (for Ph.D. programs, it is ranked 12th – which means the faculty are top notch).
At the end of the day, choose the school where you can see yourself being happy and successful. I would not advise choosing a school with a goal to transfer out as soon as possible.
If you cannot see yourself at a public flagship, consider the early May NACAC list of schools where there are still spots available, based on lower than expected yield. There are often reputable LACs on there, last year, the list included Beloit, Lawrence, Goucher, Whitman, Knox and others.
Wisconsin’s economics major is not that good??? You may want to redo your research.
What are your goals and motives?
IU-Kelley is ranked by US News at #11 out of 215 undergraduate business programs. Top 5% doesn’t seem low to me.
However, if you are not a direct admit to Kelley then you might be better off taking a gap year & reapplying next cycle.
Why go to a business school only to transfer to a small liberal arts college? Kelley is ranked in top 5 by Poets & Quants.
, This is a great article. It gave me a lot of useful information. thank you very much. Link profile: http://phongkhamdakhoathegioi.vn/cuong-duong-vao-buoi-sang.html
Kelley’s ranking is low?? Not according to U.S. News.
When the OP said “its overall ranking is too low” – I interpreted that to refer to IU as a whole, rather than Kelley more narrowly.
Unless the OP states otherwise, I’m operating on the assumption that the OP seems to be solely chasing prestige.
hey what i meant ranking is low is in terms of its overall ranking. I know Kelley is a really good school. Btw I go direct acceptance to Kelley but College of letters and science for UW, and both are affordable!
(ps: the reason why I wanted to transfer to Wellesley is not only its opportunities, most importantly, it is the only school I ever applied to that I deeply love.)
AND YES, I AM PLANNING TO TRANSFER NO MATTER WHAT.
SO PLSSSS give me more advices on which one I should pick!!!
THANKSSSSSS
@yvonne990713 Just curious. Did you apply to Wellesley? If so, were you accepted?
So what happens if you don’t manage to transfer in to Wellesley?
Wisco all the way!!! It’s gorgeous, incredible academics, great social life, aswesome football team, amazing city, and the best people you’ll meet. The only problem is after spending a year there… you aren’t going to want to leave (I know multiple people that this happened to)
It also starts with a W just like Wellesley, so… you have to choose it
I wouldn’t let IU’s overall ranking play much into your decision about a business school I can only speak about IU but I’ve really liked it so far!
