It is currently ranked around 70th. I would like to know the progress IUB has made throughout the history. Are they getting better in ranking every year? I'd love to see some 2006~07 data....

NYU had no reputation except as a NY subway school prior to around 1980. It’s fame is very recent. You can tell by how small its endowment is.

Nice. But I hear many people saying that going to George Washington would provide me better internship opporunities. But one kid from IU told me there would be no differnece, cuz companies come to IU for internships. Do you think location really matters even if I am going to do internship during the summer?

If you’re considering GW b/c of what some predict as the next trend in business which is the melding of the private and public sectors in business esp in health care, mortgages, etc… than GW might have more direct access to the public sector being in D.C. IU is definitely very corporate, a lot of our public policy majors work in consulting for private industry. We get all of the Big 4 accnting firms, Goldman, McKinsey, Cummins, Arcelor Mittal, Target, FedEx, Bear Sterns before it blew up, Jp Morgan investment bank and commercial bank, Merrill and by extension Blackrock, etc x 2500 other companies.

But does any of that matter? Not at all if you don’t make yourself stand out. College is what you make of it, with few exceptions, internships will not fall into your lap, you’re going to have to go to the call outs, meet recruiters, and show them why you’re different than your peers.
