My question is about the business school at IU South Bend, however I thought it would be a good idea to post the thread here since there are more replies.

I understand that the math requirement at IU South Bend for business majors is the same as Kelley's school, which is finite math-118 and calculus math-119.

My question, I will be transferring from Ivy Tech, and I'm wondering if I took math136(College Algebra) instead of math135(finite) at Ivy Tech, will it meet the math requirement at IU's South Bend business school?

Thanks !

I’m going to guess not, as it is different material.

Finite math is different material from college algebra, so i doubt it will transfer. i took finite math fall semester. some people have a tough time with it, but some people do ok, if you put in the hard work you should come out okay.

Good luck!

Not the same material as already stated. Just take Finite, it really is not very bad providing you have some knowledge of probability already and performed well in the various levels of High School Math. Because it is a common class, there are also lots of resources available if you have a tough time.

I understand guys, but whats confusing me is how come that Ivy Tech-Bloomington is the only campus in state that offers IU’s midterm and final exams, while other Ivy Tech campuses next to IU don’t offer that, like for instance IUPUI or IU-SB.
