ivc to uci what r my chqnces??help..

Hey guys, this is my third yr at IVC with major of Public health policy. I admit that I lacked dedication and time in studying that my GPA is below 3.0(faling BIO93 and STAT so have to repeat them to make up). Upcoming this year I am planning to pull my grades up to 3.0 or higher in order to apply for UCI(my dream school), CS's, and other out of state universities. I have another problem other than my low GPA. My plan was to finish Trigonometry(pre-req) so I can take Pre-cal in this upcoming fall then cal in spring, but I failed to do that. So I have to retake statistics(requirement) in this fall instead of pre-cal. Will I still be able to apply with IGETC?

Sorry for my grammar mistakes, but I am in desperate help guys!! So overalll, my questions are
-Is it possible to get accepted by UCI with low GPA?
-I am an international student, and I heard that UC schools are money-need universities. Does that mean I have higher chance in getting accepted by UCI?
-I don't think alot of people are majoring in public health policy in transfering program. Does that also give me high chance in getting accepted?
-can I still be admitted with unfinished math(precal and cal), if I state that I will finish them during summer or at UCI
-is it easier to get admitted by out of state universities than UC schools?
-if I apply without IGETC, do I have low chance?
-I have never seen any IVC students who got rejected by UCI. Why is that? and will I able to get accepted by UCI?

Someone else can answer the more detailed questions you have, but I can say with some certainty that a sub 3.0 GPA and unfinished IGETC will not get you into UCI. You will need to finish IGETC and you will need to pull higher than 3.0, without a doubt.

There might be a program that guarantees them admission or so? IVC has something called an Honors-to-Honors Transfer Agreement (http://www.ivc.edu/academics/honors/Pages/ucla-uci.aspx</a>). I didn’t go to IVC, I went to different community college in the OC area and my CC also had a transfer agreement with UCI that was not TAG. You might want to look into that.

It’s hard to imagine no one has been rejected who applied to UCI from your CC. Anyhow, I saw that minimum GPA for a transfer is 3.0. They want pre-reqs done and I assume IGETC, as it looks like the major only has 6 pre-requisites. Also, the fact that you failed two pre-requisites will be noted by admissions. You have to put yourself in their shoes. Low GPA, failed some pre-reqs and had to retake. Are you a candidate they can feel secure about? You can turn it around but you really need to show them a new you. Give it your all. I would suggest not applying with any missing elements.
