I agree that just because a school does really great in passing AP exams w/ outstanding scores does not mean they are a great school. It could mean that the school is just getting the students to pass the test and not actually preparing them for college. I am saying this because I know kids from a certain school who did really good on the AP Lang/Lit test but only read like eight books. They just mainly focused on the multiple choice which was what screwed me up. I read 26 novels in the 11th grade and I feel I should have gotten the 5.

quality, not quantity

afaforce I did learn alot about what I was reading but that multiple choice screwed me up.

i was just kidding, purplechick. seriously, though, if you love reading and all that not getting a 5 on an exam that's a few hours long and can't totally test what you know shouldn't mean much. learning to test is different than learning and it's good that you do that so don't worry about one AP test

i totally agree afaforce because I am a kick a** writer

haha that's a GREAT skill to have your entire life

i don't mean to be arrogant but I really hated that multiple choice section.

actually, our school is unbelievably hard and actually teaches MUCH more than the AP level. The kids struggle to get Bs. And we select kids from auditions, so people definitely ain't dumb. However, I just wish that our teachers will quit focusing on how well we should do on the AP exams. Unfortunately, since EVERYONE takes like at least 8 APs before they leave, the stress just keeps building up. So no, everyone of our graduates come back from college saying HOW well they are prepared stress-wise and book-wise. But hey, I dunno. I personally believe our school is flawed in many ways.

well. if your school's kids go to the state school they'll probably end up skipping a year, maybe two. that's pretty cool =)

Can you post a link for those high school rankings? I can't find them
