..But didn't meet my math transfer level req., can I still appeal?

Or what would be the best route to take?

Did they know this before accepting you?

I stated I would be taking MAth 112 this spring (now) but am doing badly in it.

Oh no
I have seem someone said you can take ur course over in the summer for UCI. I have also read for UCLA, everything has to be finished by spring

Have you tried contacting each school for their insights and advices?

Oh wait , I’m sorry is that math for ITCEG? Or pre req

nymphz,

the Math 112 course is a Math 100+ course that is transferrable, which fulfills the IGETC. . . my major is anthro so dont have any math pre-reqs.

What do you mean by appeal? An appeal is when you are not accepted… and you have new and compelling information which could change how they view you as an applicant. It looks like you just need to make a phone call.

rawfulmao,

this morning i was attempting to call all the admission offices of the schools, and despite the long waiting times (which I assume i’m not the only new student calling), I keep being referred to the schools “MyUCLA”, “MyUCI” etc, websites; as they’re telling me its best to email the schools admission through my account and wait for a response…

but that takes 2 weeks it says online…dammmmmit!

Yup email takes them about 2-3 weeks to reply back. My only suggesting is for you to call right when their office opens in the morning when everyone else is asleep or at school, maybe you can get through then. You’re definitely not looking at an appeal, but rather just asking for leniency (like if UCLA will let you take it in the summer or even next Fall). Good luck.

you can find a spring intersession class and complete a college level transferable math course… this is your only chance for UCLA. they will NOT waive your math class. Math & English are the most important classes. Check Cal state dominguez hills spring intersession schedule and see if their math 131 Statistics course is still open… This class starts May 24 and ends Jun 10. This class meets daily 9 - 1p.m. The good news it is only 3 weeks so you will be able to get this done Spring session!

Good luck! I had to fill out a problem form for a prereq course I hadn’t fulfilled. UCLA approved my request… (I have several other math courses. this statistics class is a prereq for my major). good luck! :)

Also, UCI is the only school that is somewhat lenient and allows you to take courses in the summer for Fall admission. I am not sure if this will apply since the course in question is your only college level math course but good luck!

try to talk to the teacher and see if you can retake a test… I have done that before. Teachers want to help students that go the extra mile to take inititative for their education. You can find a solution! Think positive and search around everywhere… Cal State Long BEach also has an extension program!

This situation happened with another poster on these boards iirc.

Janethedoe around?

I believe the exact thing happened and she was rescinded last year. You can hope for the best but figure out your options.

As far as I know, LA and Cal are strict on when your prereqs should be finished (by Spring). You should immediately contact your admission advisor and see what they say.

I think it really depends on your major too (regarding UCI). If your major is impacted like Biz Econ, I don’t think they will be as lenient.

I’m currently taking Organic Chemistry II, Physics 4B, Math4A , French 2 + lab, and Library 10 for a total of 20.5 units. I’m also volunteering at Kaiser. I know I should not have put a lot of work load this semester. I was wondering if I would get rescinded if I don’t pass my Organic Chemistry. I was accepted to UCD as Chemistry, UCI as Biology, and UCSB as Biochemistry. Anyone with any experience of asking for leniency? Could I retake the class/classes (I also heard it’s either you finish the series or nothing) in the summer at UC?
