They've emailed me about my essay. They sent a letter to my parents about the honors college. They sent a a letter about direct admission into MBA. The actually had a 1st year student call my cell and then email me. It seems like they never stop! Does this mean anything? Am I qualified for any merit scholarship/honors college? I believe my SAT is too low for any of that (1350 but retaking in Nov) however my weighted GPA is around 4.4(F-Jr yrs). I didn't even submit any letters of recs, which both my teachers said were one of the best they've written. Should I submit them? I wasn't even considering Pitt at all until they sent me a fee waiver, accepted with in 5 days, and then started flooding me with all this.

I think it’s pretty standard to receive a cell call and e-mail from a 1st year student. My son received them last year even though he wasn’t eligible for honors college, merit aid, or direct admission to MBA. Are you in or out of state? I think I’d just call and ask them. You’re probably either eligible for some aid, or, if you’re OOS, maybe they’re trying to recruit the OOS tuition because of the funding cuts??? I’d just call and speak to someone, they seem to be very anxious to get a hold of you.

My D has also received several phone calls from students asking her if she has any questions about Pitt. I think this is a normal part of the recruitment processs.

This never happened to me :(

Maybe because I applied in December, haha. But yeah, I wouldn’t be too taken aback, it looks like it’s a normal thing.

My S also applied in December and didn’t get any calls but got many mailings. I found that Pitt made more contact than the other universities he applied to, not that the other colleges were laggards or anything. He is OOS and maybe that’s also a factor.
