So far in my college search I am seriously interested in these schools:
Colgate University
The College of William & Mary
Dickinson College
The University of Virginia (I realize I have no chance there, especially OOS)

If anyone has any additional advice about comparable schools I should look into, I would appreciate it as well. Don't hold back- I can take the criticism :)

THANKS SO MUCH!

History student of the year with no 5's on the AP tests?! Your SAT scores look good.

On another note: How hard is the ACT science? I haven't taken it, but it seems that you did great in everything else.

yeah UVa would be like applying to an Ivy for you, no offense. i think you have a decent to awesome chance everywhere else.

Law? In High School? Cool, but unusual...and Children's Lit? What the heck kind of school do you go to? I want to go there!

What do you want to go into? The colleges you've chosen are quite small (not in reputation) so I'm assuming you like that atmosphere. How about Vassar? It's absolutely gorgeous.

Colgate University- Accepted
The College of William & Mary- Rejected
Dickinson College -Accepted
The University of Virginia - Accepted

rejected at william and mary and accepted at uva? i think not. you have a good chance at all those schools.

Might add Holy Cross and Bucknell.

I think she has a good chance at both William and Mary as well as UVA. Both of these schools can be sort of random for out of state students. Her EC's stand out to me, though. Especially her involvement with the newspaper. UVA is big on that. William and Mary would totally consider her.

You have a very good chance at both of those schools. However, they are very different environments. UVA and William and Mary rock. Give it a try. You have a pretty decent shot in my opinion, even for OOS. Your EC's will help you. Good luck!

I also think you have a chance at either UVA or William & Mary. Being out of state makes it a crap shoot at either one. You will see lots of cases of folks accepted at one but rejected at the other. It is about as chancy at either one. See the information about the W&M class of '09 at:
