hey guys, we've all been posting stuff in this thread for a while now and I think it's a general consensus that the people on CC (and the columbia thread) are on top of their stuff (grades, scores, ec's etc.). What tier of the columbia applicants do you think the posters here represent? Are most other columbia applicants (esp. ED) similar to or better than CC columbia thread posters?

haha sorry for the redudancy, I didn't know if my question was clear.

I'd say that the people who visit CC and read the posts represent the top 50% of the college bound students (people in the top 50% of their class, 1000+ SAT, few low level leaderships and sports), but most of the people that post are in the top 50% of those that apply to top schools.
I did searches for last years acceptees to CU and a few other top schools at prstats and found that most people had 1400+, top 10 % (if not val or sal) and major EC's (just like everyone on here that posts, for the most part) and 30%-50% got accepted. If that is representative of all top schools and their applicants, then I am very happy. I'll take 30% over 10% or lower any day.

We need to have everyone post if they get accepted or not, for RD as well as ED, to see how we match up against the rest of the applicants. Although I think our will naturally be higher because some won't want to say that they got rejected. But I won't be afraid when I am.
