If god doesn't control everything then god can't exist because god HAS to be omnipotent.

If god wasn't right about the origin of the universe...I don't think its worth listening to it don't you think ;).

he is omnipotent but he chose to let us live our own lives. he wants people to love him because they want to not because they have to.

"Well when you find out "god" was behind the big bang give me a call. You see thats the difference between a belief and a fact. People need a crutch that easily explains the world to them. They can't live under uncertainty and it is simply not comforting. I suppose it is a nice coping mechanism."

then what was behind the big bang, according your theory?

scientifically speaking big bang is a fact. so, please complete the fact by telling me how/why the big bang happened.

religion does provide peace and comfort at times, but religious people also have to deal w/ the chaos of the world. just like athesits are not "bounded by a religion" but perhaps suffer more pain than believers. atheists think religious people have much easier lives, just like some christians believe being an atheist gives you complete freedom. don't ever think the other group has it perfect.

mmkay, about what you said about discrimination. these believers truly believe what they preach (or at least some of them) as much as you believe your own. but since they do believe in heaven and hell, they really want others to accept the "terms of salvation" (for lack of a better word) so that people like you (in their perspective) can have a chance to go to heaven. its all out of love. except there are those who become misinformed, then chaos happens.

Mahras-I read the context that it was in and it was out of line. Besides, seeing as I know you are an atheist, cynic and against all people who use the word believe and the very idea of religion, it's fair for me to say these things. Just because you don't care about anything but yourself, doesn't mean its wrong for others to believe in something other than themselves.

And give up! I'm smarter hehe :)

Again I aruge if god is not omnipotent god can't exist. You can't have it both ways. We don't have free will and neither does god (according to your original logic). God can see everything that will ever be and is subesequently controlled by the future (not in a time dimensional sense).

God, you're great at making stuff uf yourbf--whatever, i love how your make up your own interpretations all the time..not to mention you're extremely predjudiced as shown by your previous homophic posts.

Let My People Go

omg...qwilde....i already told you...it doesnt make sense logically but thats because God is above and beyond the barriers of the human logic. We cant confine God with human logic. its not possible

to qwilde - apparently god would have this love and risk evil, even if he knew it was going to happen. just like how presidents know that there will be people voting for him and others who vote against him.

Religion is a crutch. People fear that when they die that will be it. There will be no afterlife, they will simply cease to exist. People also want a sense of security that a fairy in the sky is looking down upon them and guiding them because they are so insecure. They are afraid that this life is all we have and that there may be no more meaning to it, then what we know now.

geez, i'm out for dinner folks..those gonna be a hundred more posts after im done haha

letmepass> Not so long ago, people didn't know what caused diseases. Once progress is made we shall figure it out. I believe thats a better course of action than sitting on our hands and believing in some mystical being creating the universe which has no merit.

And as I said, none of the countless religions of earth have ever said "oh God led to the big bang". Using the fact that the big bang theory is still young as a justification of religion shows desperation. Obviously, "god" in all the religions was wrong....universe wasn't created in six days. If god can't be write about such an important fact, why should I trust that s/he/it exists.

so whats the purpose of life?

omg...qwilde....i already told you...it doesnt make sense logically but thats because God is above and beyond the barriers of the human logic. We cant confine God with human logic. its not possible

How convenient!

mmkay- post number 383 was not completely off. God is omnipotent but we have will power. (I think that was what she was trying to say...) The rest of her posts are...predjudiced to say the least though.

You answer that. You're the one who's good at making stuff up and believing without proof. I will not answer that because that makes me as bad as you.

Okay for the last time...God is omnipotent but instead of controlling every apect of our lives he gave us free will. That doesnt mean that his will wont be carried out. God will get it done somehow i dont know how im not god but i believe that if it isnt through someone because they dont believe than hell get it done through a believing christian. He can see everything and he has through the apostles told everyone what will happen. that's going to happen because hell make it happen. but we have free will in reference to believing in him because thats how he chose to rule the universe.

it is convenient because it makes sense
