I've emailed, followed up, and stopped by his office...

So I have a problem with an online class assignment in grading (it made a huge difference) so I emailed my prof. I emailed him on the online thing, then emailed him through our edu email. Then I followed up on both two days later. The next day I went to visit his "office" but I was told he never comes in.

What options do I have left? It's been a total of 4 days now and our semester ends in a week.

You could meet with the department head and explain not complain and ask for guidance to find a way around. Very politely and sincerely. Remember you are looking for the best way to get your assignment submitted and graded.

^^ I’ve realized that my original submission was completed (this assignment was mostly based on that) but I got a 0. I went through my old submissions to see what file I uploaded and it was all completed so I think it was just a grading error or something. Ahhhh. Wohld meeting with the head seem desperate or too far fetched?

If you cannot get ahold of the professor, talking to the department head seems fair.

I agree with talking to the chair. Don’t go in with a “I’m-complaining-about-my-prof” attitude; go in and say “I really need to contact my instructor but I haven’t been able to. It’s an online class and I never see him, so what should I do?” this is a very sincere, harmless question, and I don’t see how anyone would be upset by that. Just don’t try and make the chair fix your issue or get the impression that you’re overreacting (which you’re not anyway).

Or even ask the department secretary to relay a message to them (which is that you need to talk to him). Even if he doesn’t go to his office, I’m sure he goes to the Department office to pick up his mail and at least make it LOOK like he’s around.

That’s how it was with me. flinches It’s been about two months; is that too late?
