I've fallen on my TA...what should I do?!

So…I think I've fallen on my freshman chem TA (teaching assistant). I'm a rising physics undergrad sophomore in the university and she's a graduate student. Sometimes I see her starring at my direction during labs, or she'll pick on me to do problems on the blackboard in recitation. Sometimes she would ask me questions like, "Are you a junior? Where do you live? How many roommates do you have?" etc. I visit her office hours like very, very, EXTREMELY often, like almost every single week that she's available.

The end of the semester is almost here (so yeah, finals time).? I added her on Facebook (still pending, because she pointblank told me that she doesn't update her Facebook very often primarily because she doesn't like social networking sites.) I asked her for her instant messaging screen name/number, but she asked me, "Is it necessary?" something like that. I wonder if she doesn't want to add me now because she's still my TA...at the time of writing.

As far as I know, she's single according to her status on Facebook. Sometimes I feel that she's more like a "close friend" than a "TA" during labs/recitation.

So…here's the bottom line: what should I do?! My chm final is like next Tuesday and its like...IDK. Does anyone have any advice? It will be greatly, immensely appreciated.

Don’t do anything until after finals are over, grades are in, and you’re officially done with her being your TA. Once the semester is officially over, make your move. :)

You’ll officially be a senior by then–IMO, not a big deal for an undergrad senior to go out with a grad student.

You are in Physics, you can’t date a chemist. Chemists suck

^^ Edit: Rising sophomore.

Don’t move TOO fast, you don’t want to have her freak out about it…spend some time with her as a friend and see where that leads…

^ Thanks for the tip. Hmn…maybe I should ask her again for her instant messaging screenname and say, “I’m interested in knowing more about you?”

That is a possibility, the best thing for you to do would be to move out of the student/TA area and get to know her outside of school.

…onegoal?

You fell on her? Clumsy much?

It’s no wonder she didn’t want to instant message.

rising sophomore, now that’s a different story. Let it go.

^ OMG. Are you serious? I never attend any undergraduate clubs, but usually if I go to meetings, they’re more for graduate-oriented people.

couldve picked a better name silly ■■■■■

I’m under a different aliases.

It’s onegoal in disguise

Wait what? I’m 100% not user “onegoal” btw…I’ve fallen hard on my TA, that’s for sure. Been waiting the entire semester…

I think you mean “fallen hard FOR” not on…

Oh yeah…thanks for the correction. I can’t stop thinking…ahhhhh…

onegoal, long time no see

Oh please, two different people with two different, unique situations. In fact, I didn’t even realize that “onegoal” was a user at CC until NOW when I just googled him:

http://■■■■■■■.com/677e58b

Please don’t mix the two people up. I will highly appreciate it. So let’s kick “onegoal” out of the discussion and let those conspiracy theorists play in their own backyard (NIMBY).
