I've Found UPenn 2011 Supplement...No 217?

Oh page 217! I really hope they don’t discontinue it. It is annoying to think about, I guess-but if done well, it can really help take your whole app to a new level. also, when i was deep in college writing apps, i wrote 217 at 3 am on a school night (in early september-not right before a deadline) and did very little (other than spelling, etc) to revise it. if you know what you want in life, you should be able to write it

It’s almost completely confirmed that Page 217 is discontinued. I definitely would have preferred to write that than the current question…
“Considering both the specific undergraduate school or program to which you are applying and the broader University of Pennsylvania community, what academic, research, and/or extracurricular paths do you see yourself exploring at Penn?”

not much room for creativity. what is this :(

question: i completed the 217 essay this summer. would it be harmful to send it in anyway? i’d hate to see a perfectly good essay go to waste and it wouldn’t be one that would be easy/beneficial to rework

does anyone know if upenn appreciates risks in the commonapp “topic of choice” or their supplement?

They pay more attention to the supplement. So put some risk into the supplement.

@lnem make it your common app essay.
