Ive got a problem...

FML...I went from a 30 C in April to 26 C in June..***!?!?

I didn't finish any of the sections this time. What should I do? Retake in September or assume that the 30 C will be enough to get into UF?

A 30 would probably be enough to get into UF. I don’t know about ACT scores, but I know some people with looooow SAT scores that got in there this year (1000+).

BTW, a 30 and a 1890 SAT is what I have, UF is my safety school

Yeah UF should not be your safety school with those test scores, especially after a year with a 33% admittance rate.

A 30 composite is about average for UF, right at the 50th percentile.

However, if you have a low UF GPA then you will be in trouble. I would only retake if you think you can do better or you have less than a 4.0 UF GPA.

ACT has score choice so there really is no downside.

I’m applying mixed race as well…and I have 30 C and 1860 SAT…I know someone that applied mixed race got in with a 28…im still worried though.

Got a parent that’s an alumnae? They love that, you can get in with like a 4 if one of your parents went there

If you are hispanic UF will not care at all.

Coming from someone who lives in Florida, hispanics are hardly minorities in many parts of Florida.

UF also cares little about alumni considering pretty much everybody has some alumni relation.

I also can never finish the sections. Retaking it in September sounds great to me also, though taking the SAT sounds better. I think your first score 30 is great.

What ACT score do I need to get into UC Irvine>??

Gator, isn’t mixed race different from hispanic?

My story.

Going to be a senior. Here are my scores:

Sept 08 : 24
Feb 09 : 26
April 09 : 27
Jun 09 :24

Ugh, I dropped 3 points. If I actually study for 2 months, you think I’ll be able to reach 29, perhaps 30? Honestly, all the practice I’ve done for each test might have been like 1 practice test the day before and that’s it. Give me hope.

^

Thread hijacker

It depends what “mixed race” means.

If you are partly african american you would be considered an URM, and it would help alot.

Half white and half hispanic won’t be that rare in florida though.

oops,meant for a new thread,sorry.

To post 10…

Does studying actually help? I never though it would on an ACT so never tried.

You can say they don’t care about alumni, but everybody I know that’s applied and had a parent that went there has gotten in. Which is a lot considering I live just South of gville.

Haha, I like the comment that hispanics are minorities in Florida. I’ve never thought of it that way but it’s pretty true

It is “considered” but it is hardly important.

UF is not UVA
