I've got questions. Anyone got answers?

Thanks for the help.

How does applying for dorms work? Do you have a better chance at what you want if you apply earlier? Cuz can’t we already apply for housing already? I don’t wanna get screwed out if I should be applying around now as opposed to later.

How do I set up my myBerkeley thingy. You know, how everyone has their own account thing for whatever college people go to. Has anyone actually set theirs up or what? I think it’s called BearFacts? If not, what is BearFacts?

I was looking at the FAQ, and it mentioned the Statement of Legal Residence form. What the hell is it?

Thanks for all your guys help, and I’ll see you all in about 5 months =)

Kratos: 3. the SLR is not available until after the SIR is signed...

~Don't worry too much, it will all work out :)

~ 2. Have you set up your CALNET ID? You need to do this to set up your account...to do so you need the ID and PIN to make a passphrase - look on your Checklist in Admissions

I don't have either my ID or my PIN. It said it would be in the PS section of my admission letter, which hasn't come yet. There's no other way? I should wait for it, right? On a sidenote, have people's admission letters actually come in the mail yet?

i believe the earlier you apply to housing, the higher priority you have. i can't verify this though. however, i know that regents scholars have first priority

no worries, Kratos, just wait for your letter, it is quite nice w/the ID and PIN in PS like it says, mine came today
:)

there is no such priority

housing is random and NOT based on a first come first serve basis

I know because I already signed up for housing and that's what it said.

yeah, Regents' are merely guaranteed 4-years of housing (as opposed to 2)...not necessarily preference

I've got another very important question. I want to drop AP English. The teacher gives a ridiculous amounts of work, I'm getting a C (a low one), and it's brining my other grades down. If I explain that dropping will raise my other grades, will they let me do it without revoking me or not?

NO!!!! You must take four years of English!!! "I can't handle my high school workload" is not an acceptable excuse.

No I"m not dropping, I'm gonna be switching to regular english.

i wouldnt do it. if you can keep the C and keep a 3.0 it doesnt really matter

Next question. The conditions for admittance says "Complete all senior-year courses listed on your application with an overall unweighted B average for each term and no grade lower than a C. Immediately notify us, in writing: if you did not meet the grade point average condition for any term of your senior year; or of any changes to your senior year class schedule."

What is considered a B average? Is that an A for every C, or something else? One friend told me that 3 Bs and 2 Cs is acceptable. Is it? What's the deal with that?

I would think UW B-avg = 3.0
A=4 B=3 C=2 D=1 F=0 ~ and then mix and match ;) as in average it all out

****.

10 chars.

Ok so, these are my grades right now.
History-83
Spanish-78
Art-probably C
English- 73
Math-79.

I can easily bring up my Spanish and Math grades up to Bs, and my art too. History I can bring up to an A with extra credit. That'll end up giving me an A,B,B,C,B, which just barely makes the cut, right?

Now my question is, what if I can't bring one of those grades up. Like my art teacher gives me a C or I can't exactly bring up my history grade. Are they gonna revoke me if I miss the requirements by 1 letter grade? How does the revokement process work exactly? Thanks.

I know that a girl one year was put on academic probation for UCLA when her grades fell, she had to attend summer school to maintain her admission status...but I dunno about the system itself
