Hey! After making it through to the interview phase and nervously waiting for an interminable period of time, I just learned that I was rejected from the Telluride Association Summer Program (TASP). I desperately want something to fill my time over the summer, does anyone have any suggestions? That said, I do know that it is very late for any applications, an as a result I was contemplating whether to try also for an informal lab internship or not. I guess I ideally wanted to try for a lab internship as I am interested in science [particularly mechanical engineering] but did not know how to go about cold emailing. I know this is a stupid, convoluted query, but could anyone please help me?

I would definitely look for any internships, and there is a post on Summer Programs page on how to do it. You should also look to try to take classes at a nearby community college. Good luck!

Take classes or design your own project (colleges like the creativity and taking initiative).

just draft an email letter to college professors. choose more young professors who are more likely to stay at campus during the summer. list your interest, grades so far
