I need some honest answers. I , in my own stupidity put in grades with +s when my cc only uses the ABCDF grades. If I do get accepted and send in my transcripts how much of an impact will this have??? Please I need some thoughts!

The plus or minus denotation is primarily for GPA and trend purposes. A B+ versus a B- is going to have no impact on your acceptance into a university. That said, you need to call the admissions offices of the campuses to which you applied and explain the situation; they may tell you to update your grades and explain the changes through the TAU (which is available until 3/30), they may tell you to mail/fax something in, or they may tell you not to worry about that at this stage. You have to contact them, however, because you may be penalized for disclosing false information and not attempting to fix it! Good luck! It will be fine if you contact them!

But + - are calculated into your GPA. A B+ is not equal to a B. your GPA is going to be different on your transcripts than the Uc’s calculated GPA.

Thanks justinetruant, I’ll notify them asap. Is it still possible to TAU again, since it’s still open, I haven’t received any acceptances yet.

It is, yeah! I recently updated my TAU to change my Spring 2012 classes from “PL” to “IP” and added my midterm grades in the “additional comments” section on advice from a transfer student rep at Cal

That being said, know that updating your TAU doesn’t guarantee that the information will be reviewed. You have to call first!

I did this myself. Noticed it AFTER I was admitted to UC Irvine.

I just notified admissions that I had accidentally added a plus. It didn’t matter. My GPA was well above average so it didn’t matter.

Thanks guys for the info and great advice, I’ll give admissions a call and see what they have me do. Thanks again!!!

Oh and I’ll start by updating my TAU
