I've Narrowed it Down

Heyy
I now have a revised list of schools i like, can you tell me what my chances are?

the rest of my SENIOR classes will be as follows:
Trig/Alg 3
Environmental Science
Gym
Psychology

Now the BAD part....my SAT score..... 1480....i know its terrible but i will definatly retake them in May as well as another time if i have to. Since the first time i took them i have taken an SAT class and i have an SAT math tutor. I am also going to be taking the ACT next weekend wish me luck :)

are you kidding? A 1480/1600 is amazing! you don't necessarily need to retake the test, if you don't want. that's much higher than mine, and i think i have good scores.

1480/1600 or 1480/2400?

BIG difference there.

nope out of 2400 :(

who's who and national honor roll are worthless

Have you considered looking into SAT optional schools?

I agree with you about your SAT scores, but no worries, the SATs are just one factor used by colleges to judge their students and by no means are the be all end all in college admissions. Ratings: unlikely reach, reach, semi-reach, good fit, likely, safety.

University of Delaware... REACH.
Penn State... REACH.
Pitt... REACH.
UMass-Amherst... SEMI-REACH.
Indiana University... SEMI-REACH
Rutgers... REACH.
Towson University... GOOD FIT.

ohhh, then in that case, your chances at those selected schools are low. however, you did say that you prepared for the SATs and are going to take it again, so if you can get it 1700+ then you probably have a strogner chance at those schools.

With that SAT score, the only schools you listed that you have a chance to get into are Towson and Indiana. The other schools are too much based on numbers and your score is just too low. You're definately going to have to improve it.

Look, SATs aren't everything--and you still have time to retake it also. Your GPA 3.7 UW, 4.1 W will get you into some of these schools.

University of Delaware (my top choice by far)-slight reach
Penn State--slight reach to reach
Pitt--match to slight reach
UMass-Amherst--slight reach
Indiana University--match
Rutgers-match
Towson University (it's a commuter college)--match

I'll send you some info via a private message about studying for SAT tests--hopefully it will help you raise your scores by 100 points or more--which would then get you into all of these schools but Penn State.
