I've spent way too many weekend/break nights doing nothing

I never spend anytime with my friends outside of school and swim practice. We don't have anything to do. We used to hang out but we just spent hours sitting around trying to think of something to do. We don't usually have any money. I live in orange county so I know theres probably a million things to do, we just don't know any of them.

Basically I'm just asking for some ideas of cheap/free things to do on friday and saturday nights. btw were only 18 so we can't drink or anything.

well, you guys can just go out for dinner, at any restaurant and talk. that sounds boring in text, but really when i do anything with my friends its fun, even if its just walking around the neighborhood.

ya dinner’s fun but like I said, we don’t have any money.

perfect time to get yourself a girl. you two would have all the time in the world! it doesn’t get any better than spring and summer love when you’re 18 years old without a care in the world.

that or get yourself addicted to world of warcraft and play 14 hours a day
(joke)

Einnob is right – but it doesn’t have to be dinner. Go window-shopping, get an ice cream cone, walk around. Conversation is really fun.

This one may sound lame, but I’ll admit it’s something I’ve taken up in high school: volunteering. If you’re lucky, you can find something surprisingly fun to do with awesome people. I volunteer at a GLBT/domestic abuse center with some friends, and the volunteers love to take everyone out to dinner or a movie after the day is over. Besides, it’s mostly teens there, so we can hang out between obligations. (Yeah, I know I sound lame with that…)

Just look around for stuff to do. There tend to be flyers up in all cities: free concerts, free movies, free comedy clubs, blah blah.

I don’t know how much money we’re talking, but stuff like the occasional movie or bowling game or something shouldn’t be more than $15 a person.

Though it’s more expensive, karaoke is a good bet if your group of friends is at all musically inclined.

Also, especially now that it’s getting warmer, stay outside! Picnics, pick-up games of frisbee and soccer, or trying cool stuff like rock climbing or bungee jumping or something.

I also spend many weekend/ breaks nights doing nothing. Though remembering I’m a junior, soon to be a senior, and then college all is most likely to change. I mean there is so much to do in college, and more independence etc… so look forward to college… I mean ofcourse in college education is the main reason, but still have fun ( if your attending).
