I've self studied lots of math this year, from Alg.2/ Trig up to Calculus BC. I took the AP Calc BC test a few weeks ago, and I am fairly confident about my score.

I signed up for SAT Math 2 just to keep myself productive and get it out of the way. Although the content is easy, I realize it is much different from an AP because, for a perfect score, you need ALMOST EVERYTHING right, not just better than 75%.

So.... Anybody with experience in this? How hard do I need to study to GUARANTEE myself an 800? Will it be a walk in the park?

Alg2/Trig is different than calculus, as you know. It should be easier, but if you treat it as a “joke,” you will tank it. Take the challenge seriously, review your math, and you should do fine.

You don’t need to get “ALMOST EVERYTHING right” to get 800 in Math2. Indeed, it is one of most generous test. You can easily miss 5-8 questions and still get 800. In fact, over 11% students got 800 in Math2. How did you do in SAT1 and ACT math? If you are good at those, your chance is good in getting good score in Math2.

billcsho - You do have to consider, though, that not a lot of students take Math 2, and the ones who do are mostly highly intelligent and over-achieving and willing to put in a lot of time and effort to study. I’m taking the Math 2 June 1, and I’m studying my butt off.

This’ll be my first subject test. I’ve taken the SATs twice, I got an 800 in math the first time and a 750 the second time (overconfidence?). I think the main issue is silly mistakes.

I have Rusen Meylani’s 15 practice tests as well as PRs SAT Math 1+2 review book. I just don’t feel like studying :(.

Study. Don’t treat it as a joke. Calc BC has almost nothing to do with the Math 2. There is a good curve and most of the questions are pretty straightforward, but some of them can be tricky and there are some math skills you probably haven’t used in a while that you might see (matrices, etc.) Just study and don’t jeopardize your 800.
