bumpppppppp

bump…someone help me out here…i’m getting antsy writing my stanford essays

Hey fellow JSA’er. I recall a friend of mine (Cameron) who said that he knew some JSA’ers who was aiming for Ivies. Is that you?

I’ll have to say Stanford ED is looking good. Really strong GPA and incredible SAT’s. If not ED you’ll definitely still get a shot as deferred.

HYP is always difficult. You have a better chance than most.

The UC’s are pretty much match. Berkeley and LA are maybe a bit of a reach.

The Lower Ivies are a slight reach.

Dunno much about Pomona.

Can you chance me?
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/571910-percentage-high-quality-california-colleges-uc-s.html

Consider most UC’s as safeties. Berkeley and LA are not a bit of reach at ALL. Definitely in at ALL UC’s.

You got a pretty nice shot at the HYPSchools

i dont know who cameron is, but yeah.

cherry -

match to both Berkeley and UCLA.. likely you’ll get both but certainly one. Also match to Cornell (largest Ivy).

as qualified as any for the smaller Ivies, Stanford, Pomona, etc. The deal here is that your academics and public speaking/rhetoric is very strong. At this point the adcom has to LIKE you… just as in any “sales” situation, ties go to the person the adcom connects with – and you have no control over that other than to ask others to review your application for likability. Avoid arrogance, pontification, etc.

thanks, dunnin–arrogance is definitely something i don’t want to come across im my essay and my app.

You’re in to all the UC’S, Pomona, Duke, Cornell for sure.
The rest are matches/reaches.

thanks…bumppp

From what I know of these schools, I’ll say in at the UC’s and Duke. Very good chance at Cornell and UChig, maybe UPenn as well. Quite a good shot at Stanford ED. The rest of the Ivies should be a slight reach. I don’t know much about Pomona, sorry.

Slight reach for Ivies aside from Cornell, but that’s standard. You’re a really strong applicant, good match for UCs, Duke, UChicago, probably Pomona.

bumpppppppp

Harvard- reach
Yale- reach
Princeton- reach
UPenn- high match
Duke- high match
Columbia- high match
University of Chicago
Cornell- match
UC Berkeley- match
UCLA- low match
UC San Diego- low match
UC Irvine- low match
Pomona- match

You’ve got great stuff, and you are close to as good as any for the high ivies.

I assume by “low match” you mean in between match and safety?

bumppppppppppp

bumpppppppp

wow, we have pretty similar stats and are both applying stanford ea. You have different EC’s, and you are involved deeply in them so that should help you.
Youve got as good a shot at these schools as any.
Good luck to you.

bumpppppppp
