I also have a question--what should I do this summer to get noticed by colleges?

Chances @

MIT; Legacy
Caltech
CMU; Legacy
UC Berkeley
Ivies

3.7 is a tad low for competitive schools, but I dunno if its none math/science and you're into tech.

MIT - with legacy? slight reach
Caltech - reach
CMU - match
Berkeley - match
Ivies - reach for everyone

MIT with Legacy: Slight Reach
Caltech: Slight Reach
CMU: Safe match
Berkeley: Match
Low tier ivies: Match
High tier ivies: slight reach

Your application looks great and your talents show.

For the record, MIT doesn't consider legacy as a factor in their admissions process.

Questions:

a) Should I improve my SAT scores?
b) Any Ideas of what to do this summer to get noticed by colleges.
c) Umm theres no chemistry honor society, its science honor society, slight typo.
d) Once again, any ideas on what to do this summer to get noticed by colleges?

a) no. they're fine unless you're certain you can get a 2400 next time or something
b) RSI? ;) Any extensive research/whatever project will catch colleges' attention. Do something interesting--at the very least find some job that relates to science or whatever you want to do
c) ok
d) ok

MIT: Slight Reach/Reach (MIT is probably harder to get into than Caltech for asian males because of AA, etc.)
Caltech: Slight Reach
CMU: Safe match
UC Berkeley: Instate? Safe match maybe
Ivies: High Match-Reach

You need good essays to stand out. Otherwise you're just another asian kid.

asdjkl:

Assuming you are a California resident,
UCB: Match

Yeah im in california.

RSI is too hard to get into with my stats

Woudl COSMOS help?

Oh yeah also: Does anyone know wha tthe cutoff for the chem olympiad will be this year?
