I might have forgotten to add some stuff, so please let me know if I did.

I’d really appreciate chances for:

Stanford EA or RD (legacy), Cornell ED or RD, Northwestern ED or RD, Johns Hopkins ED or RD, UCLA and UCB (College of Letters and Sciences). I know that I can't apply to all of these schools under the early period, but I just want to figure out my differences in chance between each one so that I know which school to apply early to. Also, don't worry I have safties, I am just trying to get an idea from these schools.

Stanford: Reach
Cornell: high match
Northwestern: low reach
Johns Hopkins: low reach
LA- low match
Berkeley - low match

You have a chance at all of them. I wouldn’t hesistate applying for Stanford EA, considering that the legacy will help you.

thanks, do you know if it would help me to apply to cornell or hopkins ed?

I think you have a chance at all of them also. You should be good. Chance back? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1431373-chance-top-schools.html

thanks, chanced you back!

bummmmmpp, I’ll chance back!

bummmmmppppp

You look good, especially if you focus on retaking your tests. Definitely try and bump the SAT to above 2250 or so and then you stand a fairly good chance of making it in to all of your schools. Bubbles’ list is pretty accurate, although I’d feel fairly comfortable with you getting into Northwestern or JHU.

wow nice stats! you definitely have a chance at all of them. good luck!

Stanford: reach
Cornell: high match
Northwestern: low reach
Johns Hopkins: high match
LA- low match
Berkeley - match

thanks a ton guys, does anyone else have any insight on where I should apply ED?

Wherever you most want to go? Visit what you can. Don’t apply ED anywhere you haven’t visited.

Thanks for all of the replies! Leave me a link if you want me to chance back! @WoolScarves I’m not exactly sure where I really want to go that’s realistic, that’s why I’m trying to get a good sense of what to expect. Does anyone know out of Stanford EA (legacy), Johns Hopkins ED, Cornell ED, Northwestern ED and Columbia ED (legacy) which ones give “easier”/ more lenient decisions during their respective early periods? I want to know which one would be actually worth applying early because I have heard that some schools (Stanford) are actually harder to get in during their early periods. Note, I will not apply to a school early just because it’s easier to get in during that period, but I just want to have a general idea. Thanks for helping me.

bummmmppp…

hey im pretty new to this site so i’ve been reading a bunch of these chances to see how this works so unfortunately i cant really chance you. but from what i’ve read, i think i would agree with bubbles!

The thing about ED is what it’s name says: it’s a decision. You should only apply to the school you most want to attend for ED; I don’t think you should let a stranger decide that for you. If you want to keep your options open, don’t apply ED. EA at Stanford is a very good idea since it will, err, let you know early if you’re in or defer you, but it isn’t binding (although it is probably objectively the best school of all to which you are applying).

Personally I think Stanford is your only reach and that you’re in at all the other universities. Out of Cornell, JHU, and NW, I’d be surprised if more than one turned you down, and you’re definitely going to make it to the UC’s.

You need to improve your SAT, though, preferably to above 2250. You’re undeniably smart so just try to prepare and practice for the SAT when you can. I’d appreciate if you would chance me back.

Thanks for the reply and comments! Chanced you back!!

You’d be a very strong candidate for Berkeley L&S. Go for it.

Sorry, I didn’t get around to chancing you back.

^this.

Your SAT score is very good, but slightly below average for the likes of Stanford.

Aside from that…your resume is very strong. Good luck!

Raise those test scores and you’ll be fine. Your ECS are excellent. Start worrying about becoming close to a teacher or two to receive personal rec letters.

For the UCs your test scores definitely need to be higher if those are your safeties.

Good luck!
