Ivies with less than 3.7? Please post if you got in.

Anyone get into an ivy league college this year will an unweighted gpa of 3.7 or below?

if you did, please post your stats.

NO URM's or RECRUITS.

That'll limit your list to legacies, bribers, and the rich and famous.

you think someone cannot get into an ivy based only on merit with less than a 3.7?

You'd be the one pulling their admit stats down, so I'd say it'll definitely stand out like a splinter on a flat surface.

College admissions is getting more and more difficult these years, and esp. for Ivy league schools, you can't fall short of spectacular in order to gain admission.

3.7....I guess it'd be wrong for me to say it's impossible, but I think I can safely say that it's unlikely.

I've come to realize, after seeing Siemens, RSI, and many others being rejected from ivies, that "random" in describing college decisions is an understatement.

What about an upward trend in your grades? I mean, a cumulative of below 3.7 might not look great.. but what if in your last two years you did almost perfect, like a complete turn around from freshmen, or sophomore year?

I got into Cornell with a 92 uw gpa (~3.6-3.7) through the guaranteed transfer program.

I got rejected from UT Austin with a 93.7 w GPA (3.7ish). If someone got in an Ivy with under 3.7, they're not going to wnat to let me know.

^ uhh yeah but that is your weighted gpa.

I had around a 3.7 GPA, got into Penn SEAS ED

2330/800/800/790
7 5s
Extremely competitive private school

I was gonna show you my 3.7

but im a recruit

hahahhaahah

with a 3.62 unweighted, i got into brown and cornell. Regular Decision.

not recruited, URM, developmental, legacy, or anything hooked like that. However, i have one patent and two pending.

Asian (Pakistani), unhooked....

Got into Cornell, Upenn and Brown this year with a 2100 in SAT and 3.7 GPA...

Everyone on this board said I didn't stand a chance! ^_^

I'm Canadian and got into Penn with an 88.4% cumulative unweighted GPA. Dunno what that would equate to though; but it's certainly no 4.0.

a 3.7 won't keep you out. but remember, you have to give them a reason to pick you over the 4.0.

I love how so many people come on here to essentially flatter themselves on having such accomplishments as though the rest of their peers don't and come decision time, instead of accepting the rejection for what it was, suppose that the admissions department obviously must just be acting "randomly."

True....theres always a reason for the rejection/acceptance..
I can read what they type abt their stats etc.. and figure it out.

are pakistanis considered URM's?

haha na bro. I wish.

URM=under rep. minority= hispanic, native american, black etc..
it helps ALOT

ORM=over rep. minority=chinese, indian, pakistani, mid. eastern etc...
it doesn't help but it can hurt....
