If you cant get in, who will?

All reaches except Emory (High match) and Rutgers (safety). You’ll probably get into one of Duke + Northwestern and one of the ivies that you listed.

Yu killed my chances of getting into columbia :(

chance me anyway? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1195414-columbia.html

Academics are ok - this will not keep you out. But it always perplexes me why Asians (Chinese) bother taking the SAT II Chinese as if it will actually help them. Anyways, in terms of ECs, they’re not exceptional, but they vary from the typical asian activites. Like you do volleyball and play viola. But, you’ll be competing with people with national awards and overall more academically accomplished individuals. You don’t have any of the classic club leadership positions. So leadership and major awards are areas that appear to be lacking the most. It could change depending on your essay, but so far HYP, Columbia, UPENN (RD), and Brown are still reaches. The rest should be fine.

Extracurriculars are weak and typically asian. You’re in at Rutgers, and will probably be admitted to either Emory or Northwestern. The rest are rejections.

Cherry Hill East pumps out a lot of HYPSM students every year and if you’re valedictorian in a school like that you have a chance for literally every school you listed. I have absolutely no idea what every one else is talking about because I know TONS of kids from East who had similar ECs and slightly worse stats and are going to Harvard/Yale/MIT/etc.

In at: Northwestern, Duke, Emory, Rutgers
Probably: Penn, Columbia
Good chance, but don’t count on it: Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Brown

Retake the SAT once / take ACT? You seem capable of 2360+ or a 36 imo

Please don’t

thanks everyone for the feedback.

yeah i don’t have high expectations for getting into hyp or anything…i’m just hoping to get into like at least one of these schools.

@dblazer idk i actually had to study for that cause i only speak/understand well but i went to chinese school for like 5 years (5 years of hell) to learn to read and write so i just took the subject test

@Tenors that makes me feel a lot better lol but yeah…our school has more than one valedictorian because as long as anyone has a perfect weighted GPA, they’re considered one. so there are like 8 of them in my grade and i consider myself one of the dumber ones. thanks for the encouragement though

I’d apply early, if I were you, to one of the non-HYP Ivies. I think you would get in. For the others, it is truly a crapshoot, and most applicants will have your grades and scores.
