Ivy Chances...

Hey guys, I'm currently a junior from Florida. I go to a relatively small private school (110 kids per grade) and I was just wondering what you guys think my chances could be as far as Ivy's go. By the way, white male.

Grades:
G.P.A. - 4.18
Unweighted G.P.A. - not offered by my school, but I imagine 4.0
ACT score - just took it, projected 35
SAT - N/A
SAT II - US History - 750 Chemistry- 740 US Gov't - 750
AP: your only allowed to take one your sophomore year: APUSH 5 (taking 4 this year, 5 next)
All A's except for two classes: got B+ in each for one semester

Extra Curriculars:
Newspaper: Four years, Sophomore year: Copy Editor, Junior year: Executive Editor, Senior year: will be Editor-in-Chief (btw, newspaper has been ranked by all three national organizations as top in country)
Honor Council: VP this year, likely Pres. next year
Junior Statesman of America: President this year, VP next as you can only be Pres of one club at a time
Political Issues Symposium: member
National Honor Society
Writing my own one-man play after interviewing WWII vets throughout my state
Produced documentary in 7th grade that was aired on local PBS affiliate
Drumline

I'm a legacy at both Columbia and UPenn, and have pretty good connections at Penn. Just wanted to see what people think. Thanks!

You have a good shot since you’re a legacy at UPenn and Columbia: good grades. You really need to have the ACT scores in before we can really tell: projected and actual are two different things. Ivys are hard to predict; apply to all of them and see what happens because you never know. Junior year could throw you for a spin if you’re not careful. It’s a lot harder than previous years, so keep your head down and work through this year, and it will be easier to tell with a more complete picture. You have a great shot! GL!
