My sibling, who is attempting to be recurred for crew has contacted coaches, but heard one voicemail from one. Three short emails, no responses. I thought recruitment ends early in the fall... has anyone heard or not heard from any ivy coaches?

This does not sound good at all for fall recruiting. What are your sibling’s stats? Are they competitive for the schools he/she is pursuing? What about height, weight, erg score? Are those in the range for the schools? Is your sibling male or female, the timelines can be different. When did he/she start contacting coaches? If no relationship was in place prior to the start of the school year, your sibling was not on the radar for fall recruiting. Without knowing the answers to these questions, no one will be able to help you.

To answer your question, I will tell you that yes, by this time in the fall recruiting season, most viable recruits have not only heard from Ivy coaches, they have been hearing from them frequently since July 1st. Most have been offered and taken, or will be taking in the very near future, official visits. Many have already been offered roster spots and have received or are awaiting a Likely Letter. With the ED/EA deadlines fast approaching, fall recruiting is in the final stages for most coaches and recruits. My advice for your sibling is to cast a much wider net and hope for a chance in the spring recruiting season. Be aware that the number of spring recruits is much, much smaller and many schools do not sign any spring recruits at all. Best of luck to your sibling!
