Do I think this not significant? LOL! I think this not serious!

well, I hope youāre wrong gadadā¦ it would be sad if a person felt the need to create a fantasy of elite college acceptancesā¦ would imply either a very bright and bored person, or someone desparately in need of affirming relationships.

It would be a rare thing indeed to be accepted to all eight, since Iāve never actually met anyone that APPLIED to all eight. In another post, ouais does not mention Dartmouth or Cornell at all when describing his/her acceptances and 3/31 awaited decisions.

Accepted: Yale, Princeton
Waitlist: Harvard

I donāt know where Iāll be heading this fall, and will be spending April running between CT and NJ. Itās going to be a hard choice. Iāve fallen in love with Yale since being accepted early action, but being a Jersey girl, Princetonās always been looming as a dream school. While I am leaning towards Yaleās social atmosphere, Princetonās academic program in my particular fields seem stronger.

A happy problem, I guess. :)

Iām deciding between Yale, Harvard, and Stanford. Iām leaning towards Yale because of the Residential college system and the fact the students seem happy but not stuck in the artificial S bubble.

itās a little weird the way it played out with the interviews, yes, but itās still not really statistically significant.

i donāt think itās that bizarre to be accepted to all eight - iāve never known anyone else to apply to all of them, and a lot of people who can get into harvard, yale, and/or princeton can probably get into most if not all of the rest. the only reason i didnāt mention cornell or dartmouth or the other schools i was accepted to in my thread was that iām not considering attending them. i applied to fifteen schools in total; those i posted were the ones iām still thinking about going to.

anyway, please donāt worry about whether or not iām being truthful; itās ok if you donāt believe me, but just for the sake of the thread pretend iām not lying (iām not though if thatās any consolation) so that we can have a helpful and thoughtful discussion!

pianista - which fields? personally if i knew definitively (or as definitively as it is possible to know without being an actual student) that i would be happier socially at yale than at princeton i would go to yale without hesitation, but iām probably going to be doing humanities or social science which are more or less the same or negligibly different among top schools.

At Yale, Iād likely major in either Applied Mathematics or Economics and Mathematics, and consider taking up Ethics, Politics, and Economics as a second major.

At Princeton, Iād be majoring in Operations Research Financial Engineering with hopefully a Woody Woo certificate.

Ah, well thereās your answer, gadad! Iām glad this is legit.

Accepted: Princeton, UPenn Wharton, Duke, Cornell
Waitlisted: Harvard, Columbia
Rejected: Yale, Stanford, MIT

Attending: Most likely, Princeton!

oh, hm, thatās a bit more complex a decision i guess. i donāt really know enough about those departments at either school (outside of that princeton is generally better regarded in math and math-related things, i think, but iām guessing you know that already) to give you any worthwhile advice but hopefully someone else can

iām going back and forth between Penn and Columbia.

i thought i had my mind pretty much set on Penn, but my parents and other people have been pressuring me since yesterday to go to Columbia. i think iāll open my options up again, but i would really appreciate any opinions on my situation.

Accepted:Harvard,Yale,Princeton,Dartmouth,Cornell,and Penn
Ill probably go to Yale

Accepted: UPenn, Columbia, Cornell
Waitlisted: none
Rejected: Brown, Dartmouth, Yale
Most likely attending: upenn or columbia. canāt choose

not all ivies, butā¦
Accepted: Princeton, UChicago, MIT, Duke
WL: UPenn (took my name off already), and Harvard (Staying on, top choice)
Rejected: Yale

right now, Iām thinking Princeton (fin. aid), but if harvard pulls me off the waitlist hopes, iām definitely taking that offer.

oooh so many maybe yaliez, exciting!

At least here, it looks like Yale is winning in cross admits to Harvardā¦

There is no prestige difference between Penn and Columbia, but they are very different socially. Go to the one you like more.

Cornell, Columbia, Yale, JHU and UChicago (no rejections). Leaning towards JHU though actually since I wanna do pre-med.

bumping once more!

You guys are so amazingg. o.0

Accepted: Brown, Cornell, Yale
Waitlisted: Columbia, Harvard

Brown is actually my favorite of the five, but I canāt go for financial reasons. Pooh. So itās between Yale, Cornell, and Texas.

just curious: yale seems to be getting tooonnnsss of attention from cross-admits.
whatās its comparative advantage, so to speak?
