my plan is to open every rejection letter as quickly as possible so i can get to my benihana leftovers (i set aside food so that i have something to look forward to at 7:01 pm) :))
@suzyQ7 – working on the happy part.
She would have been the fourth generation to attend at her EA (and both her dad and I went there) and definitely had the needed stats, so she was really putting all her heart and efforts into one basket. Of her current top choices, one is a top 5 CS program – but it is a big school, when she wanted a smaller one, and her other current top choice wonderful small school but with a middle of the range CS program. She’ll be doing some campus visits, and I think she’ll be excited before next September.
^Its so brutal. I wish everyone realized HOW brutal before putting in all these apps. Its such a waste of time and money - especially the all ivy shot guns you see on CC.
@Rollomama My son’s list was very reach heavy as well… There’s probably 2-3 more schools he’d apply to if he had it to do over…
@suzyQ7 exactly! i only applied to one bc i knew how much of a reach it was. luckily i have some other really great options if a miracle doesn’t happen. wishing everyone the best! less than 2 hours to go!!
I applied to Princeton, Harvard, and Yale - planning to open in that order but expected to take some L’s
@ambkeegan History. Yes, planning on rejecting for NU if ivies don’t turn out to be favorable.
Do all of the Ivies release at once?
Yes
Good luck to all you kids. And try remember, if the worst the world throws at you is you don’t get into an Ivy, you’re gonna be ok.
It says decisions come out starting 7 ET so does that mean some can be posted at 7:30 or do we just assume its right at 7?
okay so im kinda terrified but at the same time I’ve also accepted my fate of being rejected so i’m a little confused with how I feel right now lmao
Hi all. I just wanted to take a minute to share some advice I wish I had been given when I was in your position. Before you open up your decisions tonight, please take the time to remember that it doesn’t matter where you go to school. Success can be found at any institution. My senior year I was rejected at every single school I wanted to go. I was devastated. I ended up going to community college and it was there that I learned the best values in life—a place I never expected to be. It was the best thing in the world for me and I had no idea at the time.
After taking awhile to reevaluate my priorities in life, I was able to see the world better with a clear picture of what success meant to me. Now I’m in my senior year, graduating with honors and interviewing with Google and Walmart eCommerce.
That being said, I do wish you all the best of luck. Just don’t put too much emphasis on this point in your life. The best opportunities in life are the ones you make yourself.
P.S. I transferred to Cornell, so if any of you have questions I’d be happy to talk to you.
I hope these schools have some good IT people cause if they don’t servers could be a crashing…
Good luck everyone.
So happy to say I’ve been accepted to UPenn, Harvard, and Yale. Best of luck to all of you!!! <3
@MathMom71 yeah, they crashed the year my daughter was accepted. It was so bad that she stopped even looking at Brown’s results once she heard from Yale. And that wasn’t until almost 20 min past acceptance release. Everyone tries to check at the same time. She will be a senior next year and it’s still very exciting!!
Did not get into Yale. Good luck to everyone else!
Rejected from 7. RIP
rejected from columbia. hopefully tufts will come through for me tmrw omg good luck everyone!
Final tally:
Accepted to Harvard, Columbia, Brown, Dartmouth, Cornell
Waitlisted: UPenn
Rejected: Yale, Princeton
