Hi everyone. I'm a senior in high school and really starting to stress this selection process. Not meaning to brag, but I am a pretty good student (4.24 weighted GPA, 35 ACT, 740 math, 680 verbal) with good ECs and such. I've been looking at some pretty high level universities, but I have loved the University of Pittsburgh since I was young and have always dreamed of attending school there at some point. I plan on going in to bioengineering and getting at least a master's degree in the discipline. My question is, if I attend Pitt (and take advantage of all the reasearch, internships, etc) and graduate with a high GPA do I still stand a shot at getting in to the upper echelon elite grad schools, the Ivies and such?

Yes indeed you do.

But, please don’t be surprised to learn that the research group you want to work with for that advanced degree is located at Never-heard-of-before-in-my-life-until-I-got-into-this-major-U/C/Institute. There are surprises out there.
