each school has a different policy, but it looks like most schools will do on campus interviews for some time and/or they'll notify you about an alumnus in your area after you've sent in your application. For MIT, you need to sign up online and scroll down once you log in to see if there's an interviewer in your area and then contact that person soon.

lol penn and columbia are definitely not "lower" than brown. They are nearly on HYPMS level for selectivity. And none of the ivies are easy enough to get into that you should question whether they are even worth the time for an interview. If you think the interview will help you out, then there's no reason you shouldn't. Each school differs on its interview policy, so you'll have to check their websites.

i was just thinking, if we can't visit schools should seniors be scheduling interviews in their hometown right around now? or should we wait until more around when applications are due?

yeah, i was wondering the same thing.. (the WHEN part of my post)

i heard last year that interviews are during the SUMMER.. well, that's passed. so now i wonder if its BEFORE apps or after we apply

bump x 1 0

I think most of the ivies will contact you about an interview AFTER you submit your applicatoin. Stanford does not give interviews.

basic suggestion:check out the college websites first before posting questions . if you had you would have found out the Stanford does not interview!

You may or maynot get an alumni interview. They are not guaranteed, though most Ivies try to give them. Typically, you can't schedule them. Schools that do on-campus interviews may have a sign up on their website. Many of the on-campus interviews are informational only and do not replace an alumni interview. An alumus will contact you after the school has processed your app. At that point you can arrange an interview at the alumus convenience. If offered, it is best to make the effort. If not offered, don't fret, it won't keep you out.
