First of all, let me say thank you to all of the seniors (now college freshmen!) who have posted their stats and acceptances decisions. They have been imensely helpful and will serve as a precedent for future seniors applying. However, I would like to start a thread for ivy league acceptances. So if you applied and were accepted to an ivy, please post your stats here! By having acceptances to ivies all in one place, it will be even more helpful for those browsing.

I second this thread

that would definitely be helpful

most of those kids have posted numerous times before -- and are busy gearing up for summer activities and starting school in the fall.

If you go to each individual college thread (look on the left hand side of the screen and click on Ivy League) the decision thread lists who was accepted, denied and deferred and most kids posted their stats. that is the best way to get that info.

Thanks, hsmomstef. However, I want to have all of the acceptances in one place. I think I'll copy-paste them and help out those like me who want everything neatly organized in one place.

I agree -- it would be handy to have it all in one place. You might try copying and pasting the links to each ivy league acceptance thread for the past two years on this thread. I am sure alot of students would find that info handy.

I tried finding stats for some schools, but I couldnt find them under the schools name. For example, there weren't any posts for Yale

Add schools such as Duke, Stanford, MIT, Caltech, and Georgetown to your list..

Even though they are bound together in the same athletic league, the eight Ivy League schools are rather different from one another -- in some cases very different. Thus I question the value of a thread consisting of a mish-mash of acceptance stats from eight rather different schools.

Checking out the acceptance threads for the individual schools in which you are interested would be much better.

I agree with coureur... there doesn't really seem to be a point to such a thread.

.... Especially when grades and sat scores are only one part of equation. They help bring your application to committee but it will be other factors that move your application to the admit, deny or waitlist pile. Keep in mind colleges admit well rounded classes that are aligned with their institutional mission.

I e-mailed two professors to ask several questions, one of which talked to an admissions officer on my behalf because they liked my "inquisitive mind." Other Factors: My family and community is pretty blue-collar, so I didn't get the opportunity to do anything huge outside of school (expensive summer programs, travel, et cetera.) I would almost certainly have a higher rank if my school's GPA-weighting system wasn't so screwed up. I chose to take classes that really affected and inspired me rather than taking lots of study halls to keep my GPA up, and since these classes weren't offered on an "honors" level, they brought my GPA down. I got the chance to rant about this for a while at my interview.
