<p>It isn’t for Cornell. Their 7 different colleges act independently of each other for admissions.</p>

<p>Nope - especially if your school is the one that the faculty from the university send their kids to. But I assume you mean in general. Still, no - multiple kids at our local public magnet get offers from HYPMS and the Ivies.</p>

<p>Some years our small school will have two students accepted to a top Ivy, some years when the talent is thin, zero make it to any Ivy.</p>
