Actual Question: Based on the background information, am I even competitive for ivy admission. I am NOT asking whether I am going to get in. I AM asking whether I am competitive relative to the average student who makes it into an Ivy League.
Why limit yourself to the Ivy League? Dozens, hundreds of great schools out there for you. With your science interest places like Harvey Mudd may be best for you. Inform yourself and branch out!
i agree with snarl. you’re a competitive applicant in general, but i say you’re a very competitive applicant for vanderbilt, emory, and wustl. harvey mudd’s an excellent suggestion if you’re looking into pursuing stem.
You are a competitive applicant. But there are more outstanding applicants than there are spots at the top tier colleges. So work to create a solid college application list that includes reach, match, and safety schools that appear affordable (find out your parents’ budget and run the net price calculator for each school) and that you would be happy to attend. Cast a wide net and recognize that (assuming no major hook) the Ivy colleges are reaches for pretty much everyone.
Another somewhat less competitive college you may want to add into the mix is URochester.
Whether you are competitive depends on what unweighted GPA is behind your 4.5 weighted GPA. Depending on the weighting system, it could be anything from 2.5 to 4.0 unweighted GPA.
Of course, even if you are competitive, those colleges are still reaches for everyone. Be sure to include an affordable safety that you like.
