Ivy League: am I on track? Please Help :)

Harvard U (I know, I know…)

Cornell (dream school)

Brown U

University of Florida (hopefully a safety)

U Penn

John Hopkins

Carnegie Mellon

PS: I won’t request financial aid. Does that increase my chance of being accepted?

Yup, I believe not requesting financial aid increases your chances…I’m not sure though.

mbl, you remind me of one that is glad handed. i know a girl that is like you…

I don’t think there is anyway Cornell would refuse you. I know people with way lower stats that got into Cornell.

De que parte de Espa

ladymadrid, I’m from Barcelona :)

Oh and thanks for the input guys  I thought I had to bump this thread again… -.-

I am also Spanish and Hispanic refers to being from Latin America, not Spain…

OK, so lets just forget about my race/ethnicity, since its starting to be rather controversial ;)

Overall, what can I do to improve my chances?

That art website sounds really, really cool. That counts as leadership because you’re taking initiative. Do you still have the website up? Can you post the URL?
You have a fantastic amount of community service, keep it up!
Keep taking APs that are personally interesting and make sure that they are consistent with the past classes you have been taking. I don’t know what classes your school offers so yeah.
Winning a pageant is DEFINITELY important to add. It proves an engaging and social aspect of the application.

The website was up 'til January , I think. I took it off the internet because I stopped painting, so I had no more things to sell, and well, I was just too lazy to continue.
But I may start the whole “business” again this summer :)

buuuuuuuuump

mbl, please start painting again
I’d love to see your artwork :)

Very good chance. Take AP Calc BC and some AP sciences, preferably Chem and Bio.

Being Hispanic with that kind of app = Excellent shot.

mbl, how was your summer parsons program??? I applied for this summer…is it worth it?

Its totally worth it, ladymadrid, IF you are into art and design. I did the fashion course, and met tons of interesting people who shared my passion. It IS really expesive (if you get the housing) but it was worth the money, and NYC is beautiful :)

PS: I did the program not just to fill my college apps, but to spend an incredible summer.
(And I don’t think it is that relevant, since I’m going to study biology LOL)

Not on track. NICE TRY!

wow, thanks mega-society. I loved your constructive criticism

buuuuuuuuuuuuuump

Overall, you are an unique and impressive candidate. Many people here on CC have similar stats and ec’s, but your art website makes you special.
I also suggest you look at lower rank schools for safeties
