Anyone here for Yale?
I have a strong feeling this year.

If no very strong applicant applies, nobody will get in. Simple as that.

That said, I heard from a friend that there are some very strong UWC Nepali students who are applying SCEA to Yale.

Thank You for the update. I was thinking for RD.
UWC candidates compete with themselves. Much like Pesta. They get colleges. Anyways, there is no such thing as a quota and I am not worried.
Instead of worrying about them I think I have to strengthen my application more I think.

Haha yes, UWC students do compete with themselves, but not at need-blind colleges.

Last year a Pestalogy student went to Jacobs and there has been no such record that a student applies from Pesta and does not get into US colleges seeing that there are only few Pesta students.
In class of 2017 one of friends got into Wheaton from UWC USA. He did apply to other colleges too (not saying Wheaton is bad) and a year before that a student from UWC Canada went to Earlham. So not worried. Regarding competition yeah UWC candidates have edge but edge does not mean anything if we do not stand out.

There you go, just “find” Nepal to see where students went. Middlebury, Stanford and such are on the lists too. Btw, divulging to us that your UWC USA friend enrolled at Wheaton tells me where you went for high school

Anyway, the thing is that these kids who go to Wheaton and Earlham (not implying they are bad, but let’s face it, you’d expect UWC kids to do better with all that money lol) are not necessarily the most competitive students in their UWC schools. IB is difficult and smart are all the students there, so go figure lol. However, the people I’m talking about this year are certain UWC’s best students and have quite spectacular profiles. Also, if you look for top colleges in the UWC list, you’d see that in certain years, over 20+ who enroll at Princeton are from UWC and so are 20+ at Macalester (which has 80 internationals per year), which is quite a LOT. Of course, this does NOT matter to us except at need-blind schools. But anyway, I don’t need think we should worry about others, like you said, just about ourselves.

I am Not from GEMS.
He is a good friend of mine. We used to be part of different campaigns together. That is how I knew him. Exactly, UWC candidates are the cream. It is given that they should achieve more than Earlham or Wheaton (regardless of the stature of these colleges).
It does not matter to us though. We have got our own issues. Isn’t that right?

Can anyone provide some statistics about IVY students from Nepal please.
I am aware that it depends on your ability rather than nationality, but it would be good to know where I stand, because obviously senior students are representative of the country. There are certainly some people who have profiles similar to mine!

@Huhahuha For Harvard, here you go…Follow the link [Harvard International Office - Student Statistics](http://www.hio.harvard.edu/abouthio/statistics/studentstatistics)

The count also includes NRN’s but as far as I have heard Harvard selected a Nepalese(Citizen) this year after a span of nearly 3 years…

Last year there were 4 Cornell acceptances in total including 2 undergraduates and two graduate students…Dartmouth accepted two( Including Saroj who has joined Harvard), Yale accepted none, Columbia accepted one(RBS), Upenn also accepted one( Saroj )… That’s all last year as far as I know…

wow you love to collect numbers, don’t you? lol
