Ivy League Athlete?

I'm just wondering because I am interested in playing lacrosse at Cornell, would I need to be worried about any of my academic qualifications? My GPA is a 4.0 but my SAT scores would end up around a 1700 (1100 not including the writing section). The rigor of my classes is pretty good it's just the SAT scores aren't that great. Would I be able to get in? Or would the coach have to pull a few strings or what?

You won’t get in with a 1700. Sorry

You should contact the the Cornell lacrosse coach and find out what would be required. If your SAT is not within the range they require, then you might want to take the ACT or at least take an ACT sample test to see if you find that better.

Even if Cornell recruits you those scores will make it really hard for you to get in.

What year are you? Do you have time to really prep for the SAT and take it again? Or try the ACT. You want to aim for 650+ on each section, and the higher the better.

Good luck … and work hard. The determination and willingness to work hard, really hard – physically, athletically, and academically – is what it takes to be a lacrosse player at Cornell.
