If a student is accepted to two ivy league universities (or comparable ones such as Hopkins, Brandeis, Maryland Honors orRutgers Honors), and receives a better financial aid package from one than the other, can you negotiate with the Ivy League aid office you got less money from, saying that you want to go to their school but won't be able to unless they give you more money, as another university did???

This specifically applies for me to negotiating with the Yale financial aid office, as I have been accepted early action.

Not really. If you use that tactic, you will likely get a flat no. You can request a review of your package, and you can suggest, as I did, that maybe they missed something because their package didn't look as good as some others such as ...... And you can outright tell them that you prefer to attend their school but you are struggling with the finances and you would appreciate any consideration.

It's like Jack Nicholson says in A Few Good Men to Tom Cruise: "I'll answer your question but you gotta ask nice." The colleges will relook at their aid offers but only if you ask nice, as bandit says.
