Ivy League? How Does it Look So Far

<p>Hey guys, I am just wondering how I am looking so far in terms of getting into a decent Ivy League like Cornell, etc.</p>

<p>Grade Level so far: 11th
GPA: Unweighted: 4.0
Class Rank: guessing in top 1%, most likely 2nd or 3rd.
SAT: haven't taken it yet, plan to do it very soon..... gg
ACT: haven't taken it yet, plan to do it senior year..... gg</p>

<p>AP Classes/Scores:
• AP AB Calculus: 5
• AP BC Calculus: 5
• AP BC Calculus (AB sub-score): 5
• AP Biology: 5
• AP US History: 5
• AP Scholar with Honor Award
• AP Psychology: NA
• AP Environmental Systems: NA
• AP Economics Macro/Micro: NA
• AP Literature: NA
• AP Chinese: NA
• IB Economics SL: NA
• IB Environmental Systems SL: NA
• IB SL Bio: not taking test at the end of the year
• IB Business: not taking test at the end of the year
• IB Math SL: not taking test at the end of the year</p>

<p>Extracurricular Activities:
• Science Fair (9th-12th): Qualified for State Science fair with awards
• Science Olympiad (9th-12th): Qualified for State with awards
• Engineering Internship, Biochemistry Internship, Chemistry classes at a University (got an A) spreaded over summers.</p>

<p>• Swimming (9th-12th): Varsity Letters for all years. Most likely captain for senior year
• Track (9th-12th): Letter of Participation. Hopefully Varsity Letters for 11th and 12th.
• Big Brothers and Big Sisters (10th-12th)
• Key Club (10th-12th)

• Chinese Club (9th-12th): President for senior year

<p>Well, you’ll definitely get into a good college as long as your essays are good. That being said, while your stats definitely put you in the range for the ivies, thousands of near “perfect” applicants get rejected each year, so it really depends on what you end up getting on the tests, and how your essays come together.</p>

<p>Are you on track, though? I’d say yes.</p>

<p>Impossible to predict until after you take the SATs/ACT’s, etc.</p>

<p>Hard to say without seeing those SAT scores. Be sure to write compelling essays.</p>

<p>Be sure to check which schools require the SAT IIs, and how many.</p>

<p>you’re doing good so far, but its too soon to tell without SAT and ACT scores. you’re grades are great, but so are everyone else’s applying to ivy league schools. you need to keep up with your extra curriculars and get amazing test scores to still have a chance. i’d say aim for above a 2100 on your SAT, and above a 31 on your ACT. and you’ll need to take SAT II subject tests (2 or 3).</p>
